Somebody told me they were or at least people are trying to revive them. I'm a student of mysticism and I'm wondering what type of mystical element they had/have - how abstract they were in their concepts, for example.

I can't find out what these two scrambled words are in Spanish.
- tjnraoo
- íaotmirm

The first one says it's suppose to be "the state fruit of Texas" which is grapefruit but it doesn't match those words...
The second scrambled word is suppose to be "a type of commerce that Houston is known for"

I hope the clues help, cause they didn't help me... I hope you can help me.. and if you do THANKS!

It is just not me and I do not feel comfortable. I wear pants and a jacket or long sleeve button up shirt. I comb my hair nicely and wear no jewellery or make up. I still look nice though. Skirts and dresses just do not suit me. I also refuse to shave my legs, so it does not look good if I wear skirts or dresses.

I'd like to begin meditating at home. I'm still in the "beginner" stage and could really use all the peace and quiet I can get while I do this. However, my family is very loud. We have a toddler living in the home and we all know how noisy children can be.

Should I just try to tune their noise out and close myself up in my bedroom while I meditate?

Seems that some atheists even Dawkins are using the term "cultural christians", "cultural Jewish", "cultural Muslim", etc. So take the faith out of it, God, and Allah out of the equation and an atheists can be come a christian....no a "cultural christian".

Are there certain aspects about faith that can be a "creature of habit" type of thing? Yes. Yet, a person who walks with God, will know the difference between the ordinary and what faith in God can do for them in their lives.

So atheists can attempt to make faith and God a secular concept, whatever you do have to do swallow the pill. There is more to being a christian, jew, and muslim, adding "cultural" in the front of it, isn't it.

What if he wants us to treat gays like the human beings they are? What if he doesn't want us to impede their free will?

I'm not even religious. I mean I don't belong to a religion. Yet I can speak in tongues. It only happens when I'm in extreme pain. Then the pain goes away.

What is the whole thing about. I use to do it when I was a 10. My parents told me that it was evil.

Any religious people know what's it's about?

For all of you mean folks. Don't waste your time or my eyes having to read "Go to a psychiatrist. Or get help." Just don't post if you have something mean to say.Ok?

I don't get it. I'm reading the Harry Potter books right now: just getting through Chamber of Secrets. It's pretty darn good. J.K. Rowling's got a good imagination...way better than any of you skeptics who think Harry Potter worships Satan.

What's so bad about any of it? Yeah, one guy drinks unicorn's blood. Yeah, they make POTIONS, and use CAULDRONS, and all your stupid little "Satanic" red alerts. Any kid can tell the difference between fact and fiction. Any kid can find Harry Potter as much as a fairy tale or story. Anyone can find this harmless entertainment, and yet I don't see why some people find this so sinful.

I'm a Christian. I believe in God, so what's the big deal with the Harry Potter books? A few simplistic spell names, dark magic, ghosts and "oooh, look at the holy bible of Satan." Most people think that's true in my old true. Then again that's what they say about heavy metal. They're wrong.

I'm done on my soapbox. Go ahead. Gimme a valid answer.

to your own experience/thoughts...what do you feel a religious person is and how do they act

my school is very hypocritical and judgemental and ive had enough of them telling me how to live my life all because they dont feel im living it the right way

in my last question i made religious people out to be stupid and hypocritical. and im sorry

i know not all of them are and i know non-rel people are too, but the thing is, non-rel people dont walk around saying they are the best people on the earth. [well yehh some arrogant bastards do but each to their own] but some rel people do, and then they act all innocent and churchly while they sit there and judge the heart out of you. and i know this is wrong.

i once got kicked out of R.E class for telling the teacher god probly excepts me for not going to church everyday, so why cant you
and then kicked out of science class for having a go at the teacher for answerin a students question with thats the way god made it..

what is the christmas song called about a boy getting shoes for his sick mother and says he wants her to look pretty when she meets jesus tonight?

I know of an avowed (not loudly, but pretty well avowed) atheist who fell on tough times. Right in front of me (a Christian) he laments that God let this happen to him. Now I also know of a handful of non-believers (though not necessarily full blown atheists) who practice similarly. They Profess no particular faith, or a faith contrary to God, until the mess hits the fan, then suddenly they speak of God working against them.

So here is the core question; do atheists really believe in no God, or are they just antagonists of the true God who choose to battle him for irrational reasons?

A man travelling by plane was in urgent need of the toilet. But each time he looked up, the illuminated sign proclaimed that it was occupied.
The stewardess, aware of his predicament, suggested that he uses the airplane's new prototype women's loo. But he must not press any of the buttons inside. The were labelled WW,WA,PP, and ATR.

The man's curiousity got the best of him and he started pressing the buttons one by one.

When he pressed WW, Warm, fragrant Water was sprayed all over his entire bottom. He thought, wow, the women really have it made.

Still curious, he pressed the button marked WA, and a gentle breeze of Warm Air quickly dried his hindquarters. He thought this was fantastic and reached for the button marked PP.

This yielded a large Powder Puff that delicately applied a soft talc to his rear. Naturally, he couldn't resist the last button marked ATR.

When he woke up in the hospital, he buzzed for the nurse. "What happened to me? The last thing I remember is that I was in the new ladies' room on a plane."

"Yes," replied the nurse, "apparently you were having a great time until you pressed the ATR button, which stands for AUTOMATIC TAMPON REMOVER. Your penis is under your pillow."

was shocked and dismayed at the answers. I asked about using credit for tithing or perhaps having an atm in the lobby... knowing the bible as I do... it would be absurd to have these things but lo and behold... it already happens... so then my question is, considering what jesus did to the money changers in the temple, what do you think he would do to your credit readers and atms?
Or is this another bible story convieniently forgotten?
