Not an expert on what topic?

The presence of Christ in your life?

If you're a follower of Christ, and the Spirit of Christ is active in your life, how difficult is it to tell people that?

Evangelism isn't fancy, or some complex script --- simply tell people your personal story about God working in your life.

The fear of not being an "expert" is an excuse many people use to not tell their stories.

Godspeed.

It wouldn't be wise to evangelize at my house if you weren't an expert in the topic. You might leave a changed person.

You don't have to be an expert to discuss a topic. There are all kinds of different levels. You can be a beginner, novice expert and still be able to discuss the Bible.

Okay, see, I know this is a question about religion, but it actually pushes all of my buttons over Isagenix. Heard of it? It's this whole nutritional system, and it's helped people lose weight, and that's great, yippee. But their marketing is just...they freakin' lie about things, and they discourage their associates from answering the simplest of questions from prospective clients because "it's just better to make them listen to the informative CD."

Grrr.

Sorry, didn't realize I still needed to get that out of my system.

Anyway, my point being that the company encourages its representatives to evangelize about something while actually PRETENDING that they're not experts.

I think, the best option would be to know as much of the Scripture as you can, and start with that. Continue searching the Bible and you will learn more and more things to say. If you cant answer somebody's question, tell them. also if you feel comfortable, tell them you can try and find out for them, then follow through with what you said you'd do.
Basically what every person needs to know is that when they die, there will only be two options. Go to Heaven, or go to hell. if they have not confessed that Jesus is Lord and repented of their sins, it's a one way ticket to hell. If they have then they can share in the blessing of being with our Savior for eternity.

Yes. I do. Tell people how God has changed your life. Write some Bible verses on an index card and keep it in your purse or keep some gospel tracts with you. People are going off into eternity without the Lord at an alarming rate. Redeem the time.

If you feel the calling, do it!!! You don't need to be an expert, just make sure that you can answer the basics. If someone asks you something you can't answer, look it up when you get home.

We are always learning more, and experiencing more as well.
But faith always begins as a mustard seed.
Just a tiny amount of belief, of faith, gets the ball rolling....as it grow it becomes a large and fruitful tree.
We can share the Word of God and uplift one another to receive that small seed of faith.
Evangelizing is about planting seeds; it does not mean we are all scholars with Phds imparting advanced doctrines.

How hard could it be? The message is pretty clear and simple.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Oops, did I just "evangelize"!

I wouldnt evangelize even if I was an expert on a subject. I think it is disgusting and arrogant.

People dont need to be evangelized to, they need to be loved.
