Obviously, there is a lot of disagreement over things like the Trinity, creation, the entire book of Revelation... ad infintum. Most of these disagreements usually have both sides citing the Bible as source of their belief. I find this interesting because the has never been anything so intensely studied as the Bible in human history, and it is held to be the ultimate text of authority by many. Yet it's unlikely any 2 people are in total agreement on what it means.

What are some of the beliefs other Christians have, based on their interpretation of the Bible, that you think are wrong, and why do ypu think your interpretation is better?.

My fiancé and I were both at home about to have dinner, when there was a knock on our door. A young female motorist had just hit a deer, killing it, just a ways down the road. She asked for a ride, to the casino which is in the opposite direction, she needed a place to be while she waited for a ride from her family but didn't want to be an imposition to us while she waited. It's just 5 min, away, no problem. She told me the story and this is where the question comes from. She was in a long train of cars and the deer picked hers to cross in front of; the guy directly behind her had to swerve to avoid missing her. She was noticeably shaken up from killing the innocent deer but I think she was more hurt by the fact the guy behind her and all the consecutive ones, cared nothing about her. I'm glad she picked our house so somebody could show her some kindness. What would you have done if you were the car behind her or in my position?

One chapter, God tells Noah to get 2 of every animal to put on the ark. Next chapter, he says to get 7 of some kinds and 2 of others.

This is not the only story in the Bible that does this. There are many others, even the Creation account doesn't agree with itself. Wouldn't the writers and translators catch this?

Don't most of them die before their grandchildren are born or before they reach the age of 5? I never knew anyone who had living grandparents when I was growing up. This was not the "norm" in my childhood or my classmates! When did your grandparents die?

I am a christian. I question my belief all the time. I sometimes think what if there is no God...right now, I am reading richard dawkin's The God Delusion. I believe that questioning your faith is the best way to be stronger in your beliefs.

I am wondering if atheists do the same.

sure you believe in facts, and whats there to question? but about the things that arn't facts that make you atheists, such as origin of universe, life. do you question what if there is a God?

I mean seriously there could have been documents that could have been destroyed therefore we can't fully understand the situation due to the lack of evidence. Also the fact that the bible might not have all of the evidence to support itself therefore the evidence is not sufficent. Last, but not least doesn't it make you mad that when people are told that God is great they never question them? I mean if God loves you so much all he wants your opinion therefore sitting behind the desires of a teacher who says that it is bad to be different is merely producing a sin and wasting your time.

Just think about reality. Yes there could have been a God but just think about a different pathway to lead you to a different conclusion. There is nothing wrong with being different. It is withing the teachings of Christ that created democracy the value of the individual therefore state what you think without fear.

Countless block buster hits have revolved around Christian themes. Why is it a crime for an atheist film to do the inverse?

If there is no God, life is meaningless. What keeps you going in life? Doesn't the idea of oblivion scare the hell out of you? Why do you even care about how you contribute to society because when you die none of it will have mattered. Think about how fast life goes. It's like a river that doesn't stop and compared to eternity it doesn't even exist. What makes you get out of bed in the morning?

Why is it not obvious to people that Jesus is simply the continuation of the Egyptian god Horus, respun for Jews via Old Testament exegesis? Even the birth story is straight out of astrotheology. Revelation is also obviously astrotheological.

Most historians will not admit this, but, most historians are Christians, so I wouldn't expect them to be unbiased on this point. They start with the assumption Jesus was god incarnate and go from there, so of course they are never going to reach the straightforward conclusion.

This knowledge has existed for well over a 100 years, long before the Zeitgeist movie began to popularize it.

I believe in God, I don't have absolute evidence for his existence but I believe with reason, but if I had to decide which deity was the most plausible I would chose the one revealed in the New Testament. So would you say I am? Agnostic, deistic, or Christian? I don't know if there is a God, I think there is, and if I had to chose one I'd say the Christian one. So what am I? Aside from weird, unipolar, factious and adorable.

I'd say I am like at the med-school stages of Christianity. I'm not certified yet, I'm still kinda in school, I could still become a drop out, but I'm on the way.

Darkness always overcomes light. Night overcomes day. Lightbulbs burn out and darkness remains. Stars, even our own sun, will eventually burn out leaving darkness where there once was light. Light is measurable and comes from a source, darkness is what remains when the source of light fails (as all sources will), is not measurable, and needs no source. Why would anybody use such an analogy, when it is so obviously flawed?

I interviewed for a job on last thursday. The company told me that they would let me know of their decision by this week. If they are honest, I believe that they would call me back. Can you pray for me that I would get the job? I am in a need of job and I need to really move on with my life. I've been searching for jobs for a while for like 5 months but it is not going well. then I tried to go into ministry because that is what I wanted to do in coming January whether I get the job or not but then my parents are saying "no" to the ministry that I wanted to get involved in. Doors of opportunity are not really opening up in my life. Could you pray for God's mercy, grance to be poured on? and that I would know what to do and perhaps get the job?be active? instead of staying home, feeling depressed? I need to feel emotionally, spiritually better... Could you pray for me that doors of opportunity will be open in my life? breaking all the walls that is blocking me to be open? Thank you.
