Hi,i am a hardworking English learner from China,today i get confused of this sentence "George Bush gets pipped to "Foot in Mouth" award" What is the meaning of get pipped to " and is it a former phrases,is there any same phrase as it?Thank you!!

This is just out of curiousity. I thought about this and I'm still not sure on the subject. Do you think Biblical Christianity can be compatible with modern feminism (or even non-modern feminist theory)?

The only thing I can come up with is that the Bible says that men are to love their wives and revere them as much as Christ loved the church.

If resistance is futile, why wait? We all might as well join the Mormon church, they're right. The rest are an abomination to God. That's what Joseph said, at least. I see so many similarities. I just can't tell the differences.

I am just curious as to what others feel God is. Male or female? Both, or neither? I realize in Catholic school we were taught God is "our father", which indicates he's a man. Assuming this were correct, is there are female god to balance things out?

When a questioner asked about obvious contradictions in the Bible, one Christian wrote, "They're not contradictions. It takes the Spirit of God to reveal His message to you."

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but are you people saying that the premise for understanding the Bible is the reception of the Holy Spirit? So anyone who questions the validity of the Bible is either lying, or doesn't understand it? Doesn't that seem like a blatant cop-out answer?

How come wiccans consider themselves trads when they're not? not to be rude or anything but i thought wicca was the rede and karma and the threefold and trads were faith, universe and nature, and spirits. I'm kinda in a disconcernment time (not offically actually) for entering the religious life (nun). I'm a junior in college and pretty strong in my faith. Sometimes there is no doubt in my mind at all about becoming a nun, I love it and am so peacfull at the thought. Sometimes I don't think I will at all. When I think I wont I'm as peacfull at mind. Lately, when I 'know' I will be I also have the confident feeling as to which type of ministry I will be working in.

Is this normal for disconcernment?

I have decided to stop referring to myself as an atheist. Gives to much credit to the "theist" part.

I think I will use "realist" from now on. What do you think. Let's give the theist's back their word.

Let's take on a new word to define ourselves that expresses more what we are. "Realists"... Who else is in?
