I am Muslim and my neighbors are mostly Christian.I have been known to send Christmas cards and candy to them and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to wish someone a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanuka.I dont feel required .I like my neighbors. Its nice to have respect for each other. You Know "Do unto Others as you would have them do unto you".

Why can't all people just great other people by saying hello? And if you're only speaking of Christmas, why should anyone be required to say it? Seems to me it's a sort of a personal thing. I of course will continue to greet people at this time of year with a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. Okay I know, half offensive.

Merry Christmas All..
The question is.. Should "normal" people be required to greet muslim people by saying Assalam Alaikum.. ;)

I'm somehow offended by that question.. I mean, i'm muslim.. and I'm pretty sure i am considered normal.. unless there was a memo that i missed.. :S
Did I miss something??

and to answer your question.. Most muslims are respectful of other people's beliefs, esp christian beliefs and greet with a Merry Christmas anyway...

Peace and Love.. and MERRYYYY Christmas!!

What's a "normal" person?
I believe it quite normal and polite for greetings to be exchanged as is customary of the country you are in at the time. If not "merry christmas" there's always the generic "happy holidays". Keep in mind some people do not recognize the christian "Christmas" as you may not recognize hannakah

No.

The polite thing to do, is accept the well-wish.

If they wish to be kind as a little extra, they can wish the wisher a Merry Christmas as well.

The same goes for all other holidays like the chinese new year or Thanksgiving.

People, no matter their beliefs, shouldn't take offense by traditionnal greetings or celebrations.

Why would you imply that Muslims aren't normal? And I don't know about the holidays that Muslims celebrate, but if someone doesn't celebrate Christmas, why would they have to say "Merry Christmas"? Christians aren't forced to say "Happy Hannaukha" and Jews aren't forced to say Merry Christmas.

First of all Muslims are normal people. No one should be required to greet you egotistical Christians by saying Merry Christmas. I will Be nice and say HAPPY SOLSTICE AND A MERRY YULE.

No, and I don't see them as "abnormal". Some people do not believe that we are celebrating the birth of Christ. They should not be forced to conform............

Neither, should those people be able to ban me from saying ," Merry Christmas", that IS what I am celebrating!

NOT GOING TO COMMENT ON THE NORMAL PEOPLE PART.... A TYPO ON YOUR END RIGHT? ANYWAYS..... NO NO ONE SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS... HAPPY HOLIDAYS IS MORE POLITICALLY CORRECT.....
