Depends on the hurt. If it's a betrayal - not very quickly at all, a fellow believer especially. We're supposed to act honorably and not betray friends and family. Other harms - eventually but I don't forget and if it's repeated, you probably won't get a chance to hurt me like that again, we're done.

In Matthew 18:21, Peter asks Jesus a similar question regarding forgiveness, particularly regarding forgiving a fellow believer ("brother"):

"21 Then Peter came up and said to him: “Lord, how many times is my brother to sin against me and am I to forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him: “I say to you, not, Up to seven times, but, Up to seventy-seven times." "

Therefore, a true Christian should forgive another person, especially a fellow believer, without hesitation or waiting for him to change. Jesus said nothing about throwing an individual out from the congregation of believers because of his sin. As a matter of fact, Jesus came here for sinners, not for righteous men (Mark 2:17).

If my feelings were hurt, I forgive instantly. But if some damage was done to myself or my property, that needs to be taken care of before I can forgive.

For instance, if another believer says my haircut is ugly, and then apologizes, I forgive instantly. Forget it.

But if they borrowed my car and wrecked it, I can forgive their action, but the consequences of their actions still need to be taken care of. If they paid the deductible, the car was fixed, I'd drop it. No snide remarks about it, it's as good as gone.

We as human beings have great difficulty with this, but can do it triumphantly with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I generally do it pretty quickly if they are sorrowful about it, but if they aren't....then I have more difficulty with it. The thing that we must remember as Christians is that none of us are perfect, so we can't expect our Fellow Believers to be perfect either....so FORGIVE THEM.....

It's hard to forgive, but as we are imperfect so is our Fellow Man, so we should understand where hi coming from.

My fellow believers are atheists. We don't hurt each other. Maybe you should consider a change. Don't have to forgive we simply agree, they usually are as smart as I am.

Very quick to forgive. That's my Christian nature. I used to hold a grudge and all.. Now I've changed.
