The Bible has very clear instructions about men not having sex with other men,so you should DO what the Lord says to do! God made Adam and Eve NOT Adam and Steve! From the beginning God made male and female! This was the union that God blessed! He made it possible for them to reproduce the human race! This is the intent of the Lord! Common sense should dictate here!

I'm not religious, but in the bible it does state that being fat is also a sin. Does that mean all fat people go to hell as well? No one ever says that. So if there is a God, he probably doesn't care if you're gay or not. Just as no one gets judged from their race. But for years people argued like this about a certain race being superior, and all others were "sinful". I believe in God, but I don't believe in a bunch of people that thought there were receiving the word of God and made what we call the Bible. And the fact that it's been translated sooo many times doesn't help either. But of course it's only my opinion.. I can't truly prove anything I state about this, just like everyone else. No one truly knows.

Is it possible to be a gay Christian?
Homosexual temptation, like any temptation, is not sin in itself. Sin is giving in to the temptation by participating in the homosexual act or fantasizing about it. In Romans chapter 1, homosexuality is referred to as perversion. Many people believe that they were born homosexual and can do nothing to change it. According to Scripture, every person is born with a sin nature! We each have a propensity toward different types of sin but are called by God to leave our sin nature behind. First Peter 2:11 says, "Dear friends, I urge you...to abstain from sinful desires which war against your soul."
In the beginning, God created man and woman to be together and designed that the two should become one through marriage. Sexual relations are wrong outside of marriage whether you are gay or an engaged heterosexual couple. Homosexual relations are no harder to abstain from than heterosexual relations. The Bible says, "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (1 Cor. 10:13).
Once you decide to abstain and live according to God's will, you will need to get some help so that God can help you. There are Christian support groups, Christian counselors, and pastors that have much experience with this; they would be a great service to you. There is also a national organization that can help you find what is available to you in your area. Contact Exodus International North America, P.O. Box 77652, Seattle, Washington 98177, (206) 784-7799.
In this process, stay in fellowship with other believers in a Gospel-teaching church. God will never leave you to work it out on your own. He will help you through. If you are reading this and you don't know the Lord, He anxiously awaits that moment when you turn to Him. The Bible says, "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in him name, he gave the right to become children of God" (Jn. 1:12). You only need to pray a simple prayer repenting of your sin and asking Jesus to forgive you and to be Lord in your life. May God bless you as you begin to walk with Him.

You asked a loaded question, but here's the way it works.
I will use a car to illustrate here.
When Mr. Ford first invented the first car, he designed it to run on gasoline. Even after all these years, the internal combustion engine still requires gasoline. If you put peanut butter, or water in the gas tank, contrary to the manufacturer's design specs, the vehicle just won't run properly.
God designed us as male and female for pleasure and reproduction. He set up the design specs when He designed us, and He really doesn't like it when we rebel against Him by saying He made a mistake, or if we try to change what He did. It's for this very same reason that drugs are a sin, because they do not fit into the specs of the way He designed us.
Unfortunately, unlike a car, we humans can defy God and violate His creation. But when we defy God, we are in rebellion against His rightful authority, which is tantamount to high treason, which is punishable by death in ANY society or civilization.
If your car suddenly decided to defy you, so that when you tried to turn left, it would turn right, or when you tried to accelerate it would slow down (kinda like a "Herbie-Gone-Insane" type of movie), you would get rid of the car and get one that DOES function properly.
Does THAT finally make sense?
I know you don't like these answers, and you're going to get a LOT of "pats on the back", but this DOES answer your question, even if you don't LIKE the answer.

It doesn't matter. You've already breeded and thrown half of their arguments in the trash, thanks for making the job of us agnostics a bit easier...(us agnostics?)Stop asking yourself, rhetorically or otherwise, what would God think? What would Jesus do? These nut jobs(and they are nut jobs) are trying to control the discussion, they can't spell, haven't read anything of substance since Charlotte's Web, homeschool their kids with their homophobia and ignorant blatherings, and they think being queer is a LIFESTYLE. IT IS NOT A LIFESTYLE. PLAYING GOLF IS A LIFESTYLE. NEITHER IS IT A CHOICE, LIKE YOUR HETEROSEXUALITY WAS NOT A CHOICE. Christ on a bike! Im sick of dealing with these people, can't they watch Fox News or O'Reilly or Ann Coulter and leave us alone? Oh, that's right you invited them by asking this question....arrrggghhhh...

God is a God of order and has designed our bodies to function in specific and particular ways, including functions of our sexual organs! their purpose is for reproduction and that can`t happen without the correct combination of a man and a woman!
if 2 men miss-use their sexual parts incorrectly, it`s like forcing a square peg into a round hole! there are bound to be problems.
you can deny it all you want, but that really is where aids originated! if Pharoah`s stubborness could bring 10 plagues on egypt, it only makes sence that the blatant disobedience of homosexuals could bring about a plague designed especially for them!

I'll summarize: a 2000+ year old book, which was allegedly written by an almighty, omnipotent being that has since chosen not to reveal himself to anyone, can be interpreted to show that said being finds utmost revulsion in the personal details of your life.
His followers have taken it upon themselves, with no sign of assent from this being save the 2000+ year old book to prevent you from acting as you choose, and therefore preventing you from committing what they believe is a sin. However, in the same breath, they explain the reason homosexuality exists is to test us and see that we can avoid temptation. therefore, are they not, by passing or moving to pass laws against homosexuality, going against the word of their own god? If god wanted us to have free will, why can't we have free will? And why on earth is it so easy for me, at 15 years of age, to see and say all this when so much of the population cannot?
You have my support, for what a pre-teen's support is worth.
furthermore, "Whether you're an atheist, evolutionist, or fundamentalist Christian, we can all agree that being gay isn't what nature intended for humans. That's why some think it's wrong."
-© Uliju 2007 AM™
you just contradicted yourself by saying that EVERYONE says its wrong and SOME of us think it's wrong. I do not believe you can speak for either atheists or evolutionists, and i suggest you do not try.
@no1home2... your metaphor is flawed. peanut butter in cars will not run. period. homosexuality will "run" if "running" is the feeling of fulfillment and love.

Being gay is not wrong. Practicing the lifestyle is wrong. Why? Because God said so. He makes the rules.

I often ask this same question. It's often turned around on me, "because homosexuality is a choice, you have free will, and it says in Leviticus it's wrong."
I always respond with this: If my sexuality were a choice, why would I choose a life of systematic oppression and hatred? Do you choose whether you prefer blondes or brunettes, or is it instinctive?

Sin brings death, or keeps us from a relationship with God. It is wrong, just like any other sin, but He loves you and wants you to know Him. He does not want us to sin because it causes us harm and hurt in our life. You are greatly loved by Jesus, that is why He died for you. You will never regret serving Him, He will give you more in this life than what you could ever get from doing things your way. I have been there and done that and would never want to go back to the way I was. He has given me more joy and peace than what I ever got before knowing Him. God Bless You
