May be 2% of India can look like highly-tanned [10% of Greece population] Greeks.

Anyways, 90% of Greeks are straight-up European looking regardless of color.
and 98% of Indians will never be taken as even darkest-European.

To be identified as dark-Greek could be true as high as 15% for Indians who come from north west India.

I believe lolacrayola's dad is north-west Indian

2% of Indian population is twice that of Greek s whole population. North Indians have close affiliation with Persian race. So you will find many fair skinned Indians.

Some Greeks are dark enough to pass for Indians, and a few Indians are light enough to pass for a typical Greek.
So don't be so shocked.

Alexander encouraged his men to marry women in that area and they returned to Greece ,...... 3 thousand years ago and descendents have migrated to Italy and Spain. Some in Pakistan claim they are descent of his army that stayed there, Also after the fall of Rome......the Mediterranan sea became a "Moslem" lake with trade and settlements where they intermarried.

I have seen a lot of olive and brown skinned Greeks who have been mistaken as someone from India and I have also heard of Indians being mistaken for Greeks.

After all, they both fall into the definition of "Caucasian" and therefore have similar features.

Mediterranean countries (Like Italy, Greece) do have dark skinned Europeans as well as white Europeans.

India has fair skinned people and dark people.

P.S Also telling a dark complexioned Greek man that he isn't really Greek is highly offensive (and bad for your health) as well.

Some of the Indians from northwest India do look Greek. Alexander the Great had conquered that area long back and they did mix.

Because of the geographic proximity of these cultures, and because of cultural mixing, with equal contribution of DNA, that results in the reproductive process that produces the individual, it would be almost impossible to define his physical appearance. It is important to understand that because of the size of the nation of India, and because of the diversity of the population, as well as cultural definition that represents tribal seclusion, for centuries the tribal culture defined the standard of acceptable beauty. As well, because the population of the Greeks shows the contribution and influence of Moorish Mediterranean, Indian, and Egyptian DNA, especially in the escalation of trade, what difference does it make what DNA results in the appearance of the individual. If your dad relates to his Indian culture, that's all that's necessary.

Greeks and Indians look nothing alike, unless the Greek person is of Indian descent and visa versa.
