Pray in spirit & truth to Father God on behalf of your friend. Pray for people to come into your friends life who will point to Gods salvation/deliverence. Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead your friend to God. Pray as the Spirit leads. Pray in the Spirit building up your most Holy Faith. Until you get an assurance in your spiritman that God has heard your prayer. God will hear your prayer if pray in spirit & truth & abiding in His Love & Truth. I have prayed for family & loved ones (combination of disobedient Christians & just about saved ones) and the Lord had given me assurance of their salvation in a Church praise & worship. That not one will be lost. So? The most important is to get Gods assurance of the salvation of your loved ones. And that this will happen in Gods good timing.
Steps to salvation is in http://www.billygraham.com & click on the knowing Jesus part.
Also, pray Gods salvation verses over your friend. You can pray scripture from the book of John too. Praying Gods Word saves us & heals us.

"There is a Catholic Bible,That has an Apocrypha...apparently God whispered that bit to the Catholics when the other christians were in the loo!!" The apocrypha was in the KJV until 1880's. Archbishop of canterbury removed it. There are other "books" that were considered Scripture until 4th and 5th centuries (by both Jews and Christians) that eventually got removed for various reasons and agendas. Many can still be found and read. One such was the Book of Enoch (even quoted by Jude in his epistle). If a person truly wishes the Truth, then that person will spend as much time and prayer as is necessary to find it. Will all things be brought to light fully? Not until our Lord returns and sets up His kingdom. If it were simply fairy tales I don't believe that it would be the most attacked Book of all time or the best selling of all time. Besides, much of can also be corroborated by outside secular sources. If you truly wish to know which version is the word of God... they are all translations and copies. It requires a lot of time and study; re-translating and putting it ALL back into the contexts from which it came. The

well, there is alot of good insight in the book of Romans about salvation and sin, and being delivered by God.
Romans 5:12
Romans 6:23
Romans 3:10
Romans 3:23
also in the book of John
John 3:17-18
John 14:6
My ultimate fav about salvation is this:
"Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12

You don't need a script to read off to pray for someone. God will hear your prayers no matter what they are. Just talk to Him, either way He always knows whats in your heart. Some religions believe in praying to Mary for some odd reason. When it says in the Bible to pray only to God. So just say whats on your heart, He's always listening, and even though He may not answer your prayer when you want, it may happen when you least expect it. The Lord works in mysterious ways, He knows whats best and when its best to do it.

Your friend is the only one to pray to ask for forgivness and his own salvation/deliverence.
The gospel of John is a great book to start reading to/with him but, you can't pray it?

I have some Roman Catholic friends who I feel the same way about. They don't have any light in them. God is a 'church' thing to them. They do not carry him in their hearts.
So when I pray for them, I ask for His will. I am ready to give up much for them, even being affected in eternity. But when God has determined something for someone, it His will that comes to pass.
My heart is so heavy for them, but I know that if God wants to, He will turn them into saints.
So pray for God's will. He knows that you love, I think it matters to Him.

I don't know of any verses that give the exact word I do know that the Bible says ...and whatever ye may ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; John 14:13
Matthew 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

there`s nothing at all wrong with wanting to pray for your friends or loved ones, but God wants to hear what you have to say when you talk to him, not things he himself has already said.
when i pray for someone i care about to get saved, i pray something like "Lord, do whatever it takes to get their attention!", but be careful what you pray for, because he can and will do it!
