"If there is no God, life is meaningless. "
Sorry to hear that your life is meaningless. Mine has plenty of meaning and none of it relates to your imaginary friend. My contributions will, clearly, last much longer than yours.
Since your life is so pathetically barren, perhaps you should take measures to join your sky daddy. After all, why not begin your eternity of groveling at the feet of the sadistic bastard as soon as possible? Oh, sorry. You're terrified of oblivion. What? No confidence in your convictions? Now, THAT'S pathetic.

Don't you ask this like twice a week?
I'm pretty sure it was someone called john that asked this earlier this week... and I seem to remember answering "the alarm clock"
Damn thing makes such a racket, and it's too far away to shut down from the bed, so I have to get out of bed. How about you? Does the spirit of god levitate you out of your bed?
EDIT
-----
Do you really give a **** about the answers? or did you just ask to annoy us, does it make you feel better? Did god ask you to try and make fun of those that disagree? Is THIS the meaning of YOUR life? I'm truly sorry for you if this is all there is for you...really. I hope you'll find that one thing that makes your life even somewhat bearable...
I'd be glad to explain my thoughts, but you sound like a troll, so I won't even try. You're not worth my time.

1. For the same reason you do - I'm still alive.
2. Your life is meaningless. Mine is still full of possibilities.
3. I keep going because life is worth it, whereas your religion probably tells you that you are a worthless human being unless you have your god-man in your heart, and that you are a born sinner in the eyes of your "Lord."
4. Whatever I contribute to society will be no less
than what you contribute to it.
5. When YOU die nothing you will have ever done in your short earthly life will have mattered either.
6. Refer to answer no. 1 above.
P.S. You have every right to continue being deluded. I grant you that.

I get out of bed to take a leak, often with a kickstand.
If you truly believe that life cannot be worth anything without an invisible, make-believe entity controlling your entire day, then you are indeed a sad little person.
So while you're out there whining about terrorists, abortions, stem cell research, Satan, etc. I'm the guy going to work and changing lives for the better.

What a total misconception on your part. Let me ask you a question...why did anyone get out of bed before they had ever heard of God? You don't need God to want to live that's perhaps what you have been taught, but it's just not the case.
People can do much good without religion. They can love, they can rasie families, lead productive lives, all without your God. God is not a necessary element to live. People have done it for millions of years. Even if you believe the earth is only 6,000 years old, or 10,000 (depending on the belief system), Christianitites God was litterally unknown to most of the earth until fairly moondern times. The entire South American, North American and central American contients had never heard of it. netiehr had Austrailia. Yet these people had advanced cultures, thriving socieites.
It is a misconception on your part that life has no meaning without God. Life might have little meaning without love, without honor, without dignity, without self respect....you can have all of that without your God. In fact, looking back on history, it might be easier to retain that without his followers.

BECAUSE life is short and you never know if you'll die 5 minutes after or after 30 years, that's what makes life so interesting. That's why you have to live as if there's no tomorrow. If there's eternity, why hurry?
And besides, why do you say I want to contribute to the society? I agree that humans are sociable animals, but as long as I pay tax and stay within the boundary of law, I am safe and I may do anything I wish, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone's good name, property, body, etc. (Feelings don't count)
Why do you say life is meaningless because there isn't a supreme being? My reason for life is my happiness. As long as I'm happy and as long as my "happiness" is within a compromisable boundary within the society, then it's all fine.

Actually, the only people who seem to be scared of oblivion are the religious folk. I'm not worried about it because it's the only guarantee in life regardless of whether it happens tomorrow or decades from now. Life is just an 80 year wait between birth and death; so, i may as well do something constructive while i'm waiting.

Haha! Another close-minded Christian... Your life's a joke man. Having an invisible friend who constitutes how and why you live your life takes everything out of life... Christians talk of free will--constantly-- but also claim god has a plan for them. How can your fate lie in god's hands and, at the same time. you can make "good" or "evil" choices? Free will is another matter all together. Maybe next time you can think logically before you post such a humorous blog?

Life is good. Whether or not there is an afterlife, I plan to enjoy this one. It's all I know I have.
Oblivion isn't scary, by the way. Why should it be? I was fine not existing before birth, so death should be something like that.

I think everybody should cease to try and change one another. Beliefs are hard truths and is linked to the life and sanity of the person. I myself am in-between. I'm a free thinker. And I do not like people talking about my beliefs. I am sure none of you do. Atheism is a belief. I am trying to speak for both sides of this argument.
