Hell no. I'm old & they annoy me too. In fact, I annoy myself. If you happen to walk by me & look at me the wrong way, I might yell at you & tell you to wipe that smirk off yer face. If you tell me to f^*k off, then I'll laugh like hell & give you a smile! I love being old & I hate it too! I like havin' fun with the hired help!

Does it make me a bad person to be annoyed with young people?
I mean, I have never gotten much respect from them. They are grumpy, nasty, never polite to me. I could go all day without a mutli coloured haired person giving me that kinda abuse. I guess I'm bad because i don't respect youngsters..but you know what? I DONT!

You are not yet concerned about the elders , because you are still young and energetic , but to tell you , these people deserves love and respect especially from you because they are the root of our generation , and in time you would be treated also the same by the next.
You might not know it or feel it now , but if you remain with the same attitude , you might as well be treated the same or more worst when you get older . But I`m confident that you are beginning to feel guilty about it , since you share your thoughts to everybody here . Good luck and Merry Christmas to you!

No, it doesn't make you a bad person not to respect old people, but it does show you're closed minded if you think ALL gray haired people in the same . People pf any age aren't all the same, young or old. Have you tried knowing any "gray-haired" people as individuals or do you dislke them just because they have gray hair?
With your attitude, I imagine "old" people pick up on your dislike right off the bat and don't feel very kindly to you. If you don't treat them with respect, why should they treat you with respect?
What goes around, comes around.

No it doesn't.
But if you show your annoyance, resentment and disrespect in person as you have in the questions that I have read on here tonight you have no right to expect respect from anyone who is your senior.
Those of us who have earned the title of senior citizen have done so by weathering the storms of life for fifty or more years. The process of weathering those storms has often caused aches and pains that you will learn all about (if you survive long enough). Most of us have reason to be a little irritable (some of us more so than others). If you will cut us a little slack and just be courteous and pleasant you will likely find that we are not all curmudgeons.
If you want respect you have earn it. You may not have been on the planet long enough to learn this lesson but if you stick around a while I guarantee... you WILL learn it.

No, it doesn't make you a bad person to feel that way. All that matters is how you handle those feelings. I live in one of the most popular cities to retire in in the country, and the retirees can definitely get on my nerves--they think they own the road and the aisles in the grocery store! But, I've found that if you just give them a smile, they will treat you well back.

No. I don't think it makes you a bad person but I do think it makes you a careless person to disrespect your elders. Simply because whatever you do to someone else that's what's going to happen to you. Remember the saying, "What goes around comes around?" Well, my friend...it's true. If you keep living one day you're going to get old and just when you feel like you need someone to keep you company...there comes the rejection and disrespect. I hope you can handle it when it comes back to you.

My personal experience with your generation, I teach computers to teens at a community center, is that you are all about your rights with no concern for those of others. If anyone says no to you or expresses an opinion you don't like you think you are being abused.
A bad person? No, an immature person who has a lot to learn? Yes!!!

What is it with all questions you are putting on here about the older people today !! has something really bad happend to you that you feel the need to lash out at them!, please say, someone may be able to help you figure things out..... I thought EVERYBODY knew that respect is earned, you only get it if you give it

Maybe if you would give them respect, they would give you respect. It works both ways!!!
I consider old people treasures who should be valued for their knowlege and experiences. They are living history books.
Everyone can get annoying at times...young, old...anyone. It's not fair to single out old people. Some old people are very nice.

You probably project negative energy to seniors so that's what you get back. They are highly perceptive, like little kids. It's probably a good idea if you avoid dealing with them at all. It doesn't make you a bad person, just not compatibale with older people.
