Have you ever felt the urge to leave civilization and live, by yourself or with a few close friends/family in the middle of the forest? i sometimes think about this and how lame everyday stress and drama is in our modernday civilization. its so annoying. why did life have to become so hard? we spend our whole lives learning away. and most of the stuff is stuff i'm not gonna even use later on anyway. we learn and learn and learn up until we are about 21. and if you don't you're probably stuck at some crummy job. i wish there was no civilization sometimes..i visited the rainforest a couple years ago and i loved it. everything working together in perfect harmony, every creature not caring about what the other one thinks of it, it's merely trying to survive. what a calm, peaceful, experience. why did things have to get so hard??? we are too smart for our own good.how did evolution let (or God) let this happen? i often think most of our modern-day activities are quite pointless.what do i do

If evolution is an ongoing process affecting all species, perhaps we were not the first to evolve to the stage of being able to form complex civilizatons. If that is so, perhaps there are myths having to do with another advanced species not related to ours.

Got out of work late tonight and was hungry and didn't feel like cooking. So I did something rare for me - I went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet.

The place was empty when I got in, but I was quickly overwhelmed an overweight man and woman and their trashy son.

As I get my food, the fat husband opens the kitchen door and has the audacity to yell at the cook to get him some green onions for his soup.

Already sickened, I'm stuck behind his porker wife who has a huge mountain of food on her plate and proceeds to complain to me how this buffet "doesn't have enough food." I stare at her blankly and say nothing.

To my chagrin, these pigs have been seated next to my table. While I eat this slop, they talk LOUDLY about every known medical condition they've ever had and then start bitching more about the supposed lack of food at the buffet.

Sickened by this subhuman swine, I left without finishing my dinner

Anyone else have a similar experience at a buffet? No more for me

It seems like getting money from your mom when you're a kid to buy your mom a present. What's the point? If she wanted what you bought for her she could have bought it herself. Isn't there something else a husband and wife can do for each other rather than waste money out of obligation?

It is easy to find religious information, but historical information is not so easy to find.

*Like, who decided to transcribe the oral Jewish Torah into its written form?

*Was it really a Jewish decision, done before Christ, or was it a Roman Christian decision, done after Christ?

*Why did the Jews willingly hand over their entire (give or take some edits) canon to a new religion called Christianity?

+...And why do Christians talk about the Old Testament like it was always a Christian book? If it is their Christian book right from the start, then it would mean the Romans wrote it - isn't that so?
