I tutor reading classes for GED students,and pick up litter.I do this because there is a need...can you help your town a few hours a week?

I tutor reading classes for adults. Our program is called "Read To Learn". Some of the students are locally born residents with mild learning disabilities. They are intelligent hard working people that just have problems with reading. It is sad to note that some of these people graduated from good high schools being intelligent enough to read but still not learning how.
Most of our students are foreign born. Many are woman that have husbands working at high tech plants in the area who want to understand more about their surroundings and help their children in school. I have worked with students from China, Japan, Ecuador, Poland, Korea, and Russia.
I am happy to help people but readily admit I get a lot of enjoyment from tutoring.

I have helped my community, mainly because I am a teacher. Along with my job, there are many things I do. I give money to kids who don't have lunch. I give my lunch away to kids who don't have lunch. I buy pencils, pens, and other supplies for my classroom because the school is underfunded. I organize car washes and canned food drives, I occasionally give to charity and to people I see on the street. I pick up litter BIG time. I donate my family's old clothes, toys, and books to goodwill.

Yes I do and I think every one should.
I volunteer on an average 25-30 hours a week at animal control.

I am in a club called Interact and we are conected to the Rotary. We go to the homeless shelters and serve dinner. We also helped build a park and we go to Azuza Cal to help with the Rose Parade. We also go to middle schools and help with thier halloween carnavel. So I try helping as much as I can because I love helping others.

I used to. Now I only have one day off a week and that's my I need to get everythign else done day.
