since we all know that we are the "whore of babylon", as the very intelligent christians have informed us. does this mean that they all are the daughters of the whore of babylon as they are all offshoots of the true catholic church?
just a thought

Catholics will tell you things like they "believe" church leadership was passed down in direct succession from Peter. Or that there are some biblical "hints" about the trinity. Or that they had some mysterious authority to change the day of worship from Saturday (the holy sabbath) to Sunday. Or that there's some biblical basis for the communion of Saints. Or that the selection process for the New Testament was divinely inspired and without politics involved. They may even quote scripture to show authority for church tradition. Their justifications are self-serving and thin at best. They serve only to strengthen the church's grip on Catholics. That's what the Protestant reformation was all about. By the way: the trinity, the veneration of the Virgin Mary, the communion of Saints and even Christmas and Easter has its roots in polytheistic pagan religions -- the very same pagan religions from which the early church converted its members. These concessions to the polytheistic pagans made it easier to proselytize and recruit converts.

Wow! What a wild question! How do we KNOW we are the whore of Babylon? I haven't heard an intelligent Christian say that about America. It seems to me that Liberals might say something STUPID, like that, but not a person of God. God will choose his own, and no matter who interprets the bible, there is only ONE truth! That being that Jesus Christ is the Savior. He shall love, and choose as his followers whom He alone deems is his TRUE friend. I have a feeling it won't be as many as some Liberals think!

Not all who believe in God are an "offshoot" of any religion, Catholic or otherwise, but rather a culmination of many beliefs (both old and new). It is through spirituality and education that one becomes a true believer. It is preferable to leave the name calling to those without grace.

does this mean we're their momma? or since whores can be men does that mean we're their daddy? that'd be so sweet.
