In Ancient India, Brahma religion was essentially a One-God religion. Buddha already mastered the thick and hard to comprehend Veda scriptures before he left the palace. He was not satisfied with the teachings.
After Buddha gained enlightenment, he converted many Brahmins into Buddhists, shake up casteism system, and caused a big stir to the authoritative Brahmin class (the highest class in Ancient India).
Nonetheless, Brahma religion (Hinduism today) survived, and is today dominant in India again.
Perhaps history would repeat if your hypothesis were to happen.

Jesus and Mohamed met virtually during the crusades. Jesus won. Jesus and Buddha are meeting now . Jesus has always been the winner by virtue of intelligence and progress technically and capital growth . Now we approach the time of less need to fill the earth with more bodies and more on how to get along in the crowd of people. The other forms of religion will fill in the gaps in the Jesus religion. Marriage and mental health are gaps in the Jesus religion more than ever before. The 'winning' Jesus religion will not be able to change form because of its secret interior. The subordinate religions will become recreational religions. These include Buddhist, Vegan but not Muslim and more religions to be invented. The purple bipolar people from the north seem to be an idea in one of my dreams.

I believe Jesus and Buddha has a lot to learn from each other. There is more historical evidence for Siddhartha Gautama than there is for Christ. Apparently 'heiscomingintheclouds' speaks for God. How can I get an assignment like that?

The B. advocated a philosophical practice which coincided in many ways with the Judaism J. interpreted. I don't believe that either would have tried to "convert" the other---each would do Their own cultural thing (J. was sent to the sheep of Israel, right, and an enlightened B. would not interfere with what was going on, and also recognize that J. had already attained "Buddhahood")---but I sure would enjoy hearing a discussion between Them regarding the nature of G-d and phenomena, as well as ideas regarding culturally-neutral terms for such concepts as sin, eternal life and cause and effect.

Ha, when I was in college I wrote a philosophy paper in which a virtual reality Jesus and a virtual reality Buddha met at a virtual conference and talked about Plato's The Phaedrus.
I know that sounds like a joke but I am dead serious.

The Buddha rejected irrational religious claims and saw no reason to convert to any religion. He was a Theologian Non-cognitivist, meaning the concept of god is useless and meaningless.

Depends on when they meet. If the Buddhas of the world meet Jesus this side of eternity and give their hearts and lives to Him then they will become Christians and have a Manson in Glory, however if they wait until after death and meet Jesus, then they will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone. It is their choice just like it is everyone elses.

Well, Buddha would have been verifiably 600 or 700 years old. Jesus was dead at 30. He would have been so impressed he would have become Buddhist instantly. Without a second thought.
