My husband is a few years younger than I am. He is very nice looking and considered to be an authority in his field (Maritime historian and also the Antarctic). Tonight we attended an annual meeting where he made a presentation. Afterwards, as we were having refreshments and talking with people, this young lady came up to us and said "excuse me for interrupting....." stepped between me and my husband and turned her back to me as if I wasn't there and monopolized my husband in conversation for about ten to fifteen minutes. I should mention that my husband is profoundly deaf but he reads lips and also speaks well enough to give lectures in public. She has done this on several occasions in the past. She never acknowledges me even though I speak to her first and say hello. Tonight after standing for about five minutes with her back to me, I quietly just left the area and went out and sat in the car. What would you do? I think she is very rude.

I have opened my heart to God, why has He abandoned me and not answer me, please tell me what I can do, is God real and does He listen or not?

Please I do not want any sly remarks only helpful ones

Was the lost city of Atlantis real? Is there enough evidence that it actually existed? If so then how did it come about its fate, I heard that they invented the atom bomb seeing as they were an extremely advanced society, or is it all just a myth? If it is a myth, then why? It would be amazing to know that it actually existed once and it was true! Anyone have any ideas about Atlantis? Thankyou for your time.

I find it funny that Mormons gang up on people when their religion is questioned especially when a person reveals their secrets to others .
why is this?
I wouldn't convert to a religion that is unwilling to answer my questions.
would you

The reason I ask is that I seem to see white people much happier and doing more fun things than black people, who seem to be less happy, and more reserved. Now I'm not trying to generalize here because of course I don't know everyone, but it seems that way based on my observations and I've been wondering.. Is there any truth to this.
Sorry in advance if this offends anybody.

My family has a lot of royal people and I want to find out more about them. I'm only including ones I'm a direct descendant of.

Njord, King of Swedes
Yngvi, King of Turkey
William the Conquerer
Aubrey De Vere (Justiciar of England)
Rollo Ragnvaldsson
Henry I "Beauclerc" of Normandy
Constance Le Gros, Princess of Brittany
Maud of Normandy

I may post more but I'm mainly interested in these. Also I want to learn more about Njord and his family. Thanks.

How can anyone believe that my tax dollars should be spent instructing my children in a faith which they and I do not believe? Are they completely unaware of our country's secular roots?

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.-- Treaty of Tripoli, 1796

It never seems to be a significant issue for children, but it seems as though once you get into high school and beyond, people increasingly categorize and segregate themselves (e.g., Clubs and Unions based on ethinicity, color, or religion; and people in general tending to congregate in the same way).

A British schoolteacher has been arrested in Sudan accused of insulting Islam's Prophet, after she allowed her pupils to name a teddy bear Muhammad.
...
Ms Gibbons, who joined the school in August, asked a seven-year-old girl to bring in her teddy bear and asked the class to pick names for it, he said.

"They came up with eight names including Abdullah, Hassan and Muhammad," Mr Boulos said, adding that she then had the children vote on a name.

Twenty out of the 23 children chose Muhammad as their favourite name.

Mr Boulos said each child was then allowed to take the bear home at weekends and told to write a diary about what they did with it.

I am overwelmed at the love on both sides here. It just takes my breath away.
This is the Religion and Spirituality category, isn't it?
It is obvious that Atheists are very curious about what Christians believe. It is either this, or many of you Atheists are just very mean spirited people who have too much time on your hands.
Why do you care enough about this category to spend so much time here?
Don't answer. I know. It's because deep down inside your hopeing that someone somehow someday will be able to prove God exists.

Aint guna hapen.

Only God can convience you. So go to him instead of comming here.

Personaly, I'm not offended by even the worst of you.
I was worse yet.
