No, i am not afraid of generalization. If someone belongs to religion of Jesus, shuldn't be a pattern of tolerance for the others ? I love Jesus. Plenty of ppl hurt Him. I am tolerant towards atheist as well. Everybody has the right to have his own opinion.

If you are truly a Christian, if you truly believe the teachings of Christ, if you are trying to live your life as Christ dictated in the Bible, then yes you would be tolerant. Unfortunatly, I feel that the true meaning of being " A Christian" gets lost in the day to day business of religion.

If a person is truly Christian, then being tolerant shouldn't even be an issue.
Matthew 5:44 - I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you.
I know a lot of people that call themselves Christian, that could stand to pay attention to this message. It's not good enough just to tolerate another person's beliefs. We should love these people as well.
I call myself Christian, and I feel like I could do much better at applying this principle myself. We don't even need to be Christian. Just imagine how much better the world would be to live in, if we all lived by this message.
So I want all of you reading this to know, even though I don't know you, and I may believe different things than you, I can still love you as a brother.
Be good to each other
Let's stop the fighting over religion.

I would say some are and some are not. It's just like with any group of people, there's going to be tolerant and not so tolerant people. I believe that everyone has the right to express their beliefs as long as it doesn't infringe upon the rights of others.

Thats such a generalised question.
Its got nothing really to do with being Christian, but rather the tolerance of the individual.
As far as I know Christianity does not promote intolerance of other race, religions etc.

Christians should be more tolerant, but why stop at Christianity when it should apply to all of humanity? Everyone believes their so freaking right they shove it in everyones face. And it does absolutely nothing but lead to hurt feelings and pissed off people. Why can't we just say: "I believe what I believe and my neighbor is free to do the same?" Even the Apostles said not to engage in word battles! But to simply deliver the message and if it was excepted to let their shalom (peace) settle on them. And if not to leave and keep their shalom in them. All of humanity can not leave each other alone we find reasons to fight each other even those who have recieved the message! How stupid.

In MY experience, christians are the LEAST tolerant, most judgmental, and less likely to actually behave in a christlike way than most non christians.
I'm not putting down christianity, I'm just saying that MY experience with people that identify themselves as being christians has pretty much ALWAYS been negative.
ESPECIALLY if they are "born again" christians.
They're like cult members, or something.

I don't think this question will be deleted.
There are 100 of millions of tolerant Christians. Those Christians who are intolerant won't be able to deleted this question because they have no case. Yahoo admins won't let it happen.
Feel free to email me your other question. I'm really interested.

Oh yeah!
Ask those that were put to death at the Inquisition. And more recently, ask those killed in the war in Yugoslavia, N. Ireland etc.
Christianity (all religions) and tolerance are two words that should never be placed in one sentence.
