I just need this paragraph corrected because I have to read this out loud to my class and I know I seriously messed up bad somewhere. Your probably getting a lot of questions like this since midterms are coming up for everyone! I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance!

My paragraph:

What I tried to say:
I can play soccer and swim in summer. I can't ski in summer because it is hot. I go to the pool in summer. My family and I go shopping in winter. My sister goes to the movies in the summer. Today I would not like to help around the house because it is snowing outside and it is very good

It's really sad and ashame that blacks and whites seem to be the only racial groups in America and that other races are barely even acknowledged. Whats even worse is that it's 2007 and there's always some racist crap on the news or something.

When are people gonna wake up and see that were all the same?

And why don't enough people speak up against racism and any other kind of prejudice, instead of ignoring it if it has nothing to do with you?

I find it interesting that if you look back in history and literature, "taboo relationships" have gotten further and further apart.

In very old books of the Bible, half brothers and sisters married. In the slightly newer Bible books (by a few centuries), marriage between siblings wasn't moral.

Then you look at literature. In books like Cyrano de Bergerac and Pride and Prejudice you have cousins engaged or in love and this seems to be perfectly normal.

Nowadays it seems like even cousins are too closely related to be married by today's standards.

What do you all think? How far back is it culturally proper for a couple to get married? Everybody's related eventually. Could they be first cousins? Second cousins? Third cousins? 20th cousins?

For myself, I wouldn't think first cousins should be getting married, but I don't know about after that.

(In case you're wondering or judging, this question is nothing more than curiosity. I know no one marrying anybody they're related to.)

...Why are they sold in toy stores?

I've heard some really, really creepy things about Ouija boards: How they "open you up to demons", how they're potentially dangerous, how you should NEVER touch one.

And yet, in an age when products are immediately recalled if they're found to be dangerous or harmful to a child, Ouija boards are still sold. You can get them at Toys 'R' Us and KB Toys, and they've been widely available for years.

If this product is so incredibly dangerous, why can I walk into a toy store and get one for $14.99?

Particularly Adam and Eve. Why is it called 'the tree of knowledge'? Knowledge is a great thing

Also, sex has many benefits and some cultures or philosophical branches see it as spiritual bonding. I mean sex has great effects on your immune system, hormone activity, weight, etc.
Why is it viewed negatively?

Why do we read the bible? I understand it is what God has said over the years, but we really don't know that. thew bible was completely written by man, not one word was by God. yes, they may have been influenced, but how do you know they didn't just make up some b.s? I also understand some of you will say "have faith", but in what? You don't know if any of it is actually true, how do you have faith in something that u dont even know exists. its like me saying i have faith in my toy dinosaur becoming president of the united States. yes, there was a bible written, but no one knows if it is true.

everything I enjoy in life God considers a sin. I like booz, I like having lots of sex partners, I like bad language, I like money, I love tv shows like South Park and I absolutely love science class. I don't get why God considers these things a sin, especially since I am not hurting anyone. I don't have a girlfriend or a wife and kids to take care of and I have no family. I am not hurting anyone except maybe myself. Why should God care what I do so long as I don't hurt anyone. It's stupid, he shouldn't consider fun a sin.

I am an Atheist. However, I was rased Christian and was baptized at a Baptist church. I've been an Atheist for around 20 years, and haven't attended church for nearly 30 years. Yet I still receive church bulletins in the mail.

I've recently learned that the church still considers me an official member. I've asked around, and it seems most (if not all) religious institutions do the same thing.

Therefore, considering how many Atheists (or people who no longer consider themselves religious but may not label themselves) are still listed as members, the numbers provided for statistical purposes MUST be horribly inaccurate.

I'm referring to statistical data which claims the vast majority of U.S. citizens are Christian and of the non-Christians, the majority are of another religion. Which makes it seems like there are very few Atheists in the U.S.

Obviously, there are great numbers of Atheists. Look how many are here? (for instance)

Each person in our office will buy a christmas gift for a needy child. This year I'm sponsoring 2 kids - 11 & 12 year old girls

Should I get them something fun for christmas like... lipgloss, nail polish, etc. Or should I get them something more usefull like socks, mittens, scarfs? I don't know who the girls are so I don't know what size they wear. I hate giving gift cards because I could probably find something worth more on sale than the value of a gift card.

What do you think... fun or practical?

OK, So I was raised Christian. My family was a holiday-only church-goer type. A lot of things in Christianity bothered me. I thought it was because I didn't understand it fully, and needed to be more serious. I wentto church every Sunday to start, then to Bible study groups, and soon I was reading and studying the Bible, including talking things over with my Pastor everyday. Things still didn't make any sense, so I studied the other major world religions and quickly found I was stuck between being Pagan or Atheist. I see "God" like Spinoza, but I understand the need to anthropomorphize "God" in order to connect easier with It, and that's what I've been doing by puting the faces of Isis and Osiris on "God". I've just always been comfortable with the Egyptians, can't explain it.

It seperates, rather than unites.
