I have been told by Christians that I am a horrible mother who doesn't love her children because I am not Christian. I have been told I am leading my daughter to hell and should have her taken away from me. I have been told my gods are "false", "demonic", and that I am stupid to believe in them. I have been told my religion is "make believe" and that if I don't repent then I will rot and I deserve it. I have been told my religion is the dowfall of the United States. I have been sneered at, judged, and damn near spit on. And when it's all said and done, I am told "it's for my own good" that they "are just trying to save me" (I guess I'm not smart enough to save myself?) and that I WILL believe one day whether I like it or not.
Why on earth would I choose to let that in my life and around my kids? Why on earth would ANYONE? While not all Christians are like this, its the ones that ARE that are asking why people don't like them. You SERIOUSLY wonder?

Several different studies have found that the population of Christians in prison far outweighs the population of atheists - and the studies accounted for the difference in overall population. "Note that atheists, being a moderate proportion of the USA population (about 8-16%) are disproportionately less in the prison populations (0.21%). "

Why are atheists able to embrace morality and be law-abiding while Christians can't stay out of jail and not commit crimes against their fellow man?

How can God be perfect, if some of the things he makes defy him? Was he testing us or himself?

In the USSR and China, the phenomenon of Stalin and Mao, respectively, is often referred to as a "cult" of personality.

In fact, in N. Korea, there is a state religion called Juche. Among its tenets is that national founder (Kim Il Sung) is divine and his son (current leader Kim Jong Il) had a miraculous birth - complete with a rainbow over the small house where he came into the world (sound familiar?).

I know that some denominations believe that the Eucharist is a symbol. Others say that it really is Jesus (either spiritually or actually transformed into him). Looking at the Bible, it seems to me that the latter of the two groups has the most support. No where have I seen a verse in which Jesus says "This is My metaphorical Body... this is My symbolic Blood."

So we were both in the heat of the moment and she asked me if i wanted to play. I agreed on one term if we could pray before and after we used it. We were just sitting there for about 2 minutes when it began to move forward. We asked it a stupid about where our friend who ditched us in town was. I took my fingers off it right away and told her to put it away im done. Do you think we let in anything are we ok please help

And it's not just on clocks either. I went to the mall yesterday, and i was waiting in line at a store, and the person in front of me was paying, and i heard the cashier go "your change is $4.11." it seems like everywhere i go, i see 11 on something. Is this just a huge coincidence, or does it mean anything? what about the 9:11?

Gandhi and Stephen Hawking agreed on this.

What do you think of this thought?

Does it counter your beliefs? Does it fit snuggly with your beliefs?

Do you think it's a bunch of hooey?

Is it a profound, scientific or even a simple explanation of 'All That Is'?

Please state your system of belief so I understand where you are coming from with your POVs please.

Peace.

Gotta ask what I would usually consider a rather childish question, but I'm curious about it. I just got in from a flight where the seats were 2 by 2. I was in the exit row window seat, so the person next to me was in an aisle, not middle. Apparently the exit row window does not have two armrests, only the shared one in between the seats, so my "window side" was already rather uncomfortable (I'm not small and was rather smushed against the window, but fit fine in the seat). My seatmate, who had full use of her entire seat, the aisle-side armrest, and the aisle leg space, insisted on trying to push my arm off my only rest for the entire flight. With only one, am I still obligated to share that one?

Granted, that was my only annoyance with flying this entire Thanksgiving weekend, which I'm incredibly grateful for. But I was curious about that, for future reference. (Please, no snide comments. I'm not asking in that witchy whiny tone, I'm just curious.)

It's so much fun to sit in a room with the family and share "I remember when..." stories with them as they laugh and giggle about the way things used to be. It's sort of like a verbal legacy of who you used to be and why you are the person you happen to be today. Do you ever do this with your family? Also, what do you miss most about the "good old days"?
