in my town, my PRIEST got a large tumor in his brain that almost killed him. also, a BROTHER contracted a cancer, which was quite deadly too.
a priest and a brother, i mean, how much closer can you get to GOD?

how can we believe in God, when the people closest to him almost die?

what do you think?

i can understand why he didnt tell them how to make TVs, computers and cars, but why not penicillin. it could of saved millions and millions of little children from a horrible death.

he told them some things to help their daily life in the bible. so the bible isnt just about the here after it's meant to be a guide to make life happy aswell.

i think that tells us it was writen by men. they tell us basic things that men new back then.

Since the majority of Americans are Christians, I'm curious to know if a candidate's religious background (being Christian) is more important to you than his/her ability to deal with the many problems currently confronting America today (many of them created by the Bush administration, such as the Iraq invasion).

If this is true, then why does God allow innocent parties to contract HIV and die of AIDS? (i.e. the faithful partners who contract HIV from a cheating partner, children who contract HIV in the womb).
If HIV/AIDS is a punishment for Homosexuality and fornication as some of you say, then why allow a faithful partner or unborn baby to be infected by it?

Suffering is often explained as something God "allows" to happen (where God has a passive role).

But if you look at a poxvirus (including smallpox), it has a highly complex structure, which seems intelligently designed. This means God would have had an *active* role in creating it and putting it on earth, knowing that smallpox would kill so many people.

Does this mean God is not all-good, or does it mean that there was some other origin for the virus?

hospital has gotten me be to see the specialist within 2 weeks. I was told about 3 hours ago that a medical profesional has looked at my findings and has urgently got me in either next week or the week after at the latest. I was suprised becasue I did not think I would get in before christmas. Most people are going to have to wait for their appointment. My cancer has spread to my kidneys as I am always getting blood in my urine that is unseen. No it is not an infection as I have been checked for that. I was getting sharp pains in my right kidney today. It is ok now as I type this. All you christians on here have been wounderfull, and I want to thank you for yoiur prayers. It was a micacle that I have gotten in so soon after my findings were faxed through yesterday, and went into the hands of a medical specialist at the hospital. I will know very soon what grade my anus cancer is soon. I am 38 and female and christians I am looking forward to going home soon to be with Jesus. awsome.

I am not trying to offend anyone and I'm sure I'm not crazy, but I saw a strange thing in the night sky tonight. I saw the outline of a glowing Virgin Mary. It was only there for a few seconds and it was gone. What does it mean?

The above sentence I read as an analogy to explain me the concept of Hell.

Maybe I'm silly, but I simply don't get it. Parents shouldn't even light a fire when kids are too close, at least that's how I was educated. Why would a good parent even use fire around kids?

Isn't Hell more like a parent telling his/her kids: eat your dinner, or else I'm gonna throw you into the fireplace? And when the kid absolutely doesn't wanna eat that yukky sushi, actually throwing the kid into the fireplace?

And only because the kid didn't believe that he will like the taste of sushi. I don't believe for a second that any parent would treat an asushist that way. Do you?
