That just goes to show: don't build your church on a toxic waste dump.

Everyone dies. Many become sick. If you read the Bible or any ancient text, you will observe that the people of all "old" religions believed in the concept of fate, something that was "set out" to happen whether we want it to or not. Fate was seen as more powerful (or deeper than) even the will of the gods. We have gotten away from that idea, in modern times. We think God has his finger in every little thing that happens to us. The ancients did not see it that way, not consistently.

You cannot say that these people are close to God because you don't know what's going on in their hearts, the fact that someone has a title it does not gaurantee that their hearts are pure. The bible makes it clear that God looks at the heart not at the title that's on a name.
And anyway, it is written that it is appointed once for man to die then judgement, people die everyday that does not change the truth that God is still on the throne. The problems we go through in life do not change God rather they change us.

Understand you can question you believe in God when this happens but and this is a big BUT did these men follow the health laws that God instructs everyone to do to stay healthy?
Yes there are health laws eating healthy foods is one of them. God gives everything and then man step in and created process foods and drinking unnatural substances like artificial colors, sugar by the tons, preventives, unnatural substances that nothing to do with natural everyday food. So God can only do so much but we must take responsibility too. Most cancers 90% are created by the food we eat. Did you know that sugar in itself feeds cancer cell to grow. Its the lack of knowledge why people get sick not lack of faith. Faith is good yes for miracle healing but you need to help God along by following His food laws that he laid out for us.

thank for the good Question
You have to know one thing first, that God loves each people and this is because we are his image. And you see the first man did sin, but for the Mercer of God and his grace he sent his begotten son to die on the cross for us.
Remember if other are dying your are still alive who is paying you living tax, who is making you to be alive everyday is it a priest or God? why not to believe in him?. Its much better to believe in him and not anything more. Are you there?
God bless you.

Ha ha... If I were to think of people who are the farthest from God, one of the top ten groups of people that come to mind are priest and preachers. Just because you work at a church and call yourself a leader doesn't mean you are closer to God AT ALL.

I'm not sure if you are aware but everyone eventually dies, even those "closest to God." Believing in God does not give one immortality, but I don't think anyone is expecting that.
I'm Agnostic, so I don't put much faith in anything but dismissing God on the basis that He doesnt protect them from mortality is quite silly.

Why Christ was Murdered, sacrificed, crucified as well. Ain't he believed in GOD? Prophet was driven out of his dwelling from his city. There were many attempts on his life. He believed in GOD. Why should not you and I?
What it is to do with disease, death, and GOD?
Your belief is childish and you are an infant to relate all these together.
Christian mystics suffered a lot and sacrificed a lot. They were almost always driven out of their wits before life became sweet to them. Many many Hindu saints suffered even more in their life time. None of them were irresolute or meek to submit to such sufferings.

I hate to break it to you, but EVERYONE DIES!!!!!
It has nothing to do with faith in God, it's all about being human. Can you name one passage that clearly and specifically states that our faith in God will prevent our earthly bodies from wearing out and eventually dying? No you can't because there isn't one.
What happened to Lazarus after Jesus raised him from the dead--do you think he is still running around, or did he die again (this time for keeps)?
Christianity is not a "Get out of jail free" card for all of life's problems. We still have to eat, we still get sick, we still have to go to work, and eventually we still die. That's just how this life is.
It's the next life that the Christian lives for, anyway. When God's ready to call his followers home, he'll do it. When your time comes, consider yourself blessed.

The people close to God die every day.
Just because one is a preacher, priest, elder, deacon, etc. does not mean that one will be immune to disease/death, etc.
Who are you to say that a minister is closer to God than anyone else?

in death u go to god. sickness is our own fault for sin. God knows what happens to us when we die so to him its just a passing, but to us we don't know so we are really scared. death is the end to some thing and the beginning to some thing new.
by the way i think u said almost die , did God not save him, must be a miracle. if u don't want to be judged don't judge God.
