If the both the Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches follow Apostolic Oral Tradition EXACTLY, how come they are Not even in communion with each other?
If Sola Scriptura cannot be the correct method of determining truth because of the religious division among churches that claim to use Sola Scriptura (Protestants),
then does this not also disqualify the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches method of using Tradition, since they are divided against themselves?

The two leading Republican candidates are Rudy Gulliani and Mitt Romney. Most evangelicals (pentecostals, Baptists, Adventists, etc.) are pro-life, but Rudy Gulliani is pro-choice. Most evangelicals consider Mormonism to be a "cult" and not "real" Christianity, but Mitt Romney is a Mormon.

Here's my question: Assuming you are part of the Republican majority who support one or the other of these candidates, do you plan to vote for Gulliani, which is a vote for abortion, or Romney, which is a vote for a "non-Christian?"

In other words, which is more important to you: The right to life, or having a "Christian" President? Wouldn't a vote for either one compromise your morals and family values?

I'm not arguing anything, just asking for honest opinions. Thanks!

Joy is unbounded on The Moors in the safe harbour of the walls of MacTealc Towers - and all hands are called to make ready the Great Feast of Reunion!

We must band together to salut the return of our brave leader MacTealc who has returned to bring us security - and who knows what else!!

My heart that is so full of happiness yet - heavy for I have to see the glory of a flyby of the Great Dragons - of all hues! And old faces are still missing - when we were dispersed to the four winds by the evil ones - we lost some of our dearest.

Jilly aka WonderWoman - my rock and friend - where are you?

Let us drown with Glenfiddich the sorrow of the past and party together as of times before!

Send for Goldwing to begin the festivities!

It really has surprised me. Other peoples religions (or lack of religion) just never really concerned me. I dont care what they choose to believe. I dont dislike any other group. I dislike some people of other groups, lol, but not the entire group. So many people on here seem to bitter against other groups. Why do you think they are so angry and bitter?

Do you think a lot of people out there really are walking around feeling this much dislike for other groups of people? Or does this message board just bring out the "best" in some people.

For Heaven's sake, Jesus Christ and God are not one in the same! Get it through your skulls, people!

Jesus was born from Mary and Joseph. Mary became pregnant without ever having intercourse with Joseph (or so claimed, as having sex before marriage in those days was punishable by death and/or you were considered a prostitute). Therefore, after supposedly never having sex with Joseph, Jesus was born, and dubbed the son of the VIRGIN MARY, birth mother of the SON of GOD!

This, of course, was all a hoax. Mary and Joseph had sex, she hid it from the world she lived in fearing she would be looked upon as a prostitute, filling her sons head with lies about never having a father other than God himself. Jesus, Mary and Josephs only son, was eventually outcast and yadda yadda yadda you all know the story from there.

This of course is my own belief... the choice is ultimately yours.

Everywhere on Y!A are atheists who post answers and start questions that express an unwarranted, inappropriate, and frankly sad hatred for Christians. Hating organized religion is no reason for you to profess your universal distaste for anyone who follows it. You may not see it this way, but it makes you look bigoted and ignorant. Making accusations towards Christians as a group, even if they're based on truth, is hateful and wrong, just like the accusations that Christians make towards us.

Do I think that Christians, and indeed all theists, are misguided? Yes!

Do I hate them? Of course not. I think you'll find that, if you are tempered in your questions, tempered answers will always dominate the responses.

Continued.

I am referring to the part of the Salve Regina where it says,

Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us;

Now those of you who have followed my other questions and answers know that I am a friend to Catholics, and that I have defended the *concept* of prayer to Mary on numerous occasions. By way of example, I am comfortable with the Hail Mary.

I have been able to provisionally accept the concept of prayer to the saints on the basis that Catholics understand it to be no different from asking a friend for prayer. But in the Salve Regina we seem to have a different kind of prayer. It would never in my wildest dreams occur to me to ask my pastor to show me mercy. Even in confession it is Jesus' mercy that I seek, not my pastor's. So what exactly is meant by asking Mary to turn her eyes of mercy toward us?

If you sired a child that was so horribly hideous that every time you so much as glanced at the poor thing, it made you vomit in your mouth just a little bit; would you give it up for adoption?

(this is a purely hypothetical question and you have to take in the fact that every time you look at the child, you WILL vomit; if not only just a mite. There is nothing you can do to get around the vomitting. Not even prolonged exposure to the child will help; it will only make you vomit more.)
