Correction: Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God is powerful. However, I find the Bible to be the most fascinating book in the world because of its content and construction. For example:
The shortest verse in the Bible is Psalm 117. The longest is Psalm 119. There are 589 chapters before Psalm 118 and 589 chapters after it. That makes Psalm 118 the center chapter of the Bible. But it gets even better. When you add 589 + 589 it equals 1188. Psalm 118:8 is the center verse of the Bible. Read what it says... now that's powerful!

Oh, there are so many. I've been moved so many times while reading the Bible.

One of them was when Rebecca died. That was so sad.

Also, when Jesus was on the cross, and His mother was there...watching the whole thing. I just can't imagine how horrible that must have been for her.

In Ruth 1:16-17, the demonstration of love and respect Ruth had for Naomi always gets to me: "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."

John 6:36 is equally powerful to me: (Jesus speaking) But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.

For me, it depends what kind of mood I'm in. Some passages are more powerful than others at times.

These are the most powerful and truthful words I've ever read!

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (Father)

John 1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (Son)

Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. ( Holy Spirit)

Without these...I would be nothing.

God bless you,
Faith

For me, it is what is often thought of as being the shortest verse - ''Jesus wept.'' (John 11:35).

For me, it instills the importance and value of compassion for others and the overriding importance of empathy in making us civilised and caring human beings. If the Son of God can feel such grief for the loss of his friends, why do we so often fail to do as much for those who suffer around us.

This is the greatest challenge to all human beings - Christian or non-Christian, believer or non-believer - in an age marked by individualism, greed and the pursuit of wealth at the expense of others.

Heb.4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
