The two leading Republican candidates are Rudy Gulliani and Mitt Romney. Most evangelicals (pentecostals, Baptists, Adventists, etc.) are pro-life, but Rudy Gulliani is pro-choice. Most evangelicals consider Mormonism to be a "cult" and not "real" Christianity, but Mitt Romney is a Mormon.

Here's my question: Assuming you are part of the Republican majority who support one or the other of these candidates, do you plan to vote for Gulliani, which is a vote for abortion, or Romney, which is a vote for a "non-Christian?"

In other words, which is more important to you: The right to life, or having a "Christian" President? Wouldn't a vote for either one compromise your morals and family values?

I'm not arguing anything, just asking for honest opinions. Thanks!

Well, I'm an evangelical and my first choice is Kucinich. Why would you assume that all evangelicals are part of the Republican party?

If I had to choose one of the two you gave, it would probably be Guillani. I really don't like Romney and it has nothing to do with his religion either. I don't like his plan to cut spending on domestic issues and raise spending on defense. I don't like his uppity attitude--like being too good to participate in a YouTube debate, almost saying he won't associate with the riff raff (ordinary citizens). Nothing stands out in my mind against Guillani, so that's why I'd pick him. But, in all honesty I don't think I would vote for a Republican--I don't care for their stance on most issues.

Romney has actually supported pro choice in the past, said he was really supporting states rights and that he has seen the error of his ways and is now completely prolife. I dont know if I believe this, but this issue really isnt the most important issue to me.

Romney is a little farther left of the spectrum then I would want. I find it hilarious when people think that Salt Lake will control Romney given the fact that his voting record wouldnt exactly support that fear. I also think it is crazy to claim that Romney doesnt espouse the values of christianity. He is still married to his first wife, goes to church, lives his life by a very strict moral code and I know how strict that moral code is because I know the requirements it takes to be a temple recommend holder, and he is.

I want a stronger conservative candidate. If I dont get a real one then I will vote for Romney. I do know that his values are in sync with mine, at least. If it comes down to Romney or Hillary I think Romneys religion wont even come close to being an issue, because the thought of another Clinton in the Whitehouse is just not one a lot of people want to fathom.

Just for the record, a recent poll suggested that half of white evangelical Christians do believe that Mormonism is a Christian religion (not a cult). 60% of evangelical Christians have a positive view of Mormonism.

Additioanlly, several reporters have recently pointed out that even the Southern Baptist Convention (a very large evangelical organization in the United States) lists Mormonism under the category "newly developed religions," not "cults and sects."

I honestly believe a vote for Guilliani would not compromise my values for my view of abortion would be for medical reasons only.

So, the vote is for Mr. Guilliani!

My vote right now is a no confidence vote for any of the top contenders of either party. It would basically be a vote of the lesser of evils. Abortion is murder at any time and those claiming otherwise are deceived and will answer to Jesus unless they repent.

My hubby & I are excited about Mike Huckabee. A wonderful Christian man who loves our country and is pro-life.

Please pray for him....

The war against terrorism is the biggest threat to our lives today.

The biggest reason that God's blessing and protection is no longer sustaining our country is how we treat unborn children.

There is a candidate which keeps all Christians happy and he is Mike Huckabee.

The only reason he is not the front runner is that he's also an Ordained Baptist Pastor.
