if so, why do they insist their beliefs on others? do Bible-fundamentalists want other people to insist their beliefs on them too?

It's funny how SDW contradicts himself in his little passage there. Nothing of what he said supports the idea that fundies are willing to accept other religions as true the way they expect others to believe their own religion as true. A fundie would immediately dismiss any belief that contradicts with theirs. But they do expect others to submit to their beliefs. So how are they keeping the golden rule?

Bible fundies dismiss the rational mind and willingly and whole heartedly believe the myths surrounding the bible. They are compelled to pass on their "truths" to non-believers and so cannot leave well enough alone. If they've heard of the Golden Rule they either don't understand it or just dismiss it outright, in favor of "converting" others to their beliefs. Each "conversion" they achieve probably earns them brownie points with their god and a greater chance to go straight to their heaven.

A real follower of Christ will certainly not force what he/she believes because as an act of love, christians will leave the matter in God's capable hands. The bible says that not by might nor by power but by the spirit of the Lord.

No. They only believe the parts that are beneficial to them. Case in point; a woman I work with brings her Bible to work all the time. She is always telling people what God wants, etc. Tonight, she told another woman that she "hated me because I'm White". I have been up looking through the Bible to see where it is said that God allows us to hate people for their skin color.

Can any Christians refer me to that passage??? I can't find it anywhere.

They also have another command to share the teachings of Christ to all. And if Christians believe that they have the truth, then they are indeed doing to others as they would want done to them.

If others believed they had the truth, and in their 'version' of the truth anyone who did not believe as they did would invariably spend eternity in hell, then those others would want to share too.

Christians do believe that any faith other than theirs is a path to eternal damnation. They show their love for their fellow man by sharing the path to eternal glory and peace.

So yes, they do want to hear others' beliefs--at least the respectable ones do.

Martin Luther once described evangelism as one beggar telling another where to find bread. But if the second beggar doesn't want food, we cannot and should not force it on him.
