The British want Santa's to be slim, so children can learn to be
less obese.
The Americans want Santa, to say HA HA HA, instead of the
HO HO HO, so it is not offencive to women.
Will Santa, also have to shave his beard and his head, so he
teaches children, to be clean shaven.
And will Santa, have to change his suit, so it doesn't have any
fur, or his leather boots.
As to not offend the animal rights activists. Get real.
No comments needed. Just making a statement. <}:-})

"Many of us saw religion as harmless nonsense. Beliefs might lack all supporting evidence but, we thought, if people needed a crutch for consolation, where's the harm? September 11th changed all that. Revealed faith is not harmless nonsense, it can be lethally dangerous nonsense. Dangerous because it gives people unshakeable confidence in their own righteousness. Dangerous because it gives them false courage to kill themselves, which automatically removes normal barriers to killing others. Dangerous because it teaches enmity to others labelled only by a difference of inherited tradition. And dangerous because we have all bought into a weird respect, which uniquely protects religion from normal criticism. Let's now stop being so damned respectful!"

Until this morning, I didn't know who Richard Dawkins was. I've read the statement above and find myself compelled to agree.

What do you think of it?

I am thinking about getting "Rest, if you must, but do not quit" in Latin as a tattoo, so obviously I want to have a proper translation before putting it on my body. I've tried several free online translation sites, but I've had different results and some with the word "must" in them, which I'm guessing is not Latin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What happened to a "loving mother", now, i don't have any problems with gays or against them having rights between them and what they want to do. But I have to say, I strongly believe in a Mother and Father as roles of a parent, I believe a child needs a strong female role model as well as a male role model, I mean what about a mother's love, a warm comforting mother and a father, two different significant roles both very important, what if a boy is adopted and he doesn't have a strong relationship with a female role for a long period in his life? In gay adoption, is one parent going to play the "mother"..I don't think so... no need for hate by the way, this is my view.

According to Muhammad's Sahih Bukhari Hadith, people who leave the "religion of peace" are to be killed. The job of the "muttaween" is to hunt and kill those who leave Islam and anyone else whom Muslims dislike, such as the Danish cartoonist or the publishers of Salman Rushdie's book "The Satanic Verses".

Want to read the stories of people who have broken free from Islam and survived?

I have been reading through some answers and questions on here and quite a bit of people are quite anxious for something bad to happen to the US and they want it to fall. Quit frankly what is the big deal? Yes America does make mistakes and has caused problems in the world, but then again so has every major empire EVER. The mongols killed 200,000 people when they conquered one city, the Romans supressed thousands across the Mediterranean.
As far as i can tell the US has helped out many nations in there time of need, and yes we do make mistakes but so what? And if you think America falling will be great then go ahead and think that. The world economy will collapse with America because America imports and exports millions, and with its economy in ruins its going to cause a ripple effect across the world (ie china gets massive amounts of business from us companies). So my question is why do people have so much hate and how will the world be better without America?

I have been to 4 wakes where the people who past on were in the ranges of 20-38 years old. The thing that upsets me about wakes is not so much the person lying in the casket or people sad or crying. The thing that truly hurts me is that they died and are never coming back:( and the chilling fact that death is final
and the harsh reality that I will never see them in an earthly sense again.
Is this normal to feel this way regarding death?
Is there a better way to handle the fears of what I listed above?
I remember when my grandpa died he was my angel from heaven that God sent to me when I needed an angel most and after he died I told my husband lets go visit grandpa and he lovingly looked at me and said honey we cant I never cried so many tears in all my life. And my pastor died and he was an other angel God send to me and it is almost 5 years and I still cant beleive he is gone. Is it also normal to be sad because they are never coming back?

My four month old niece is getting baptized this weekend. My husband and I are unable to make the trip (his sister lives across the country) but we would like to send a gift. As he and I do not follow his sister's religious path, we felt it would be inappropriate to send a religious gift. People have suggested things like commemorative engraved silver cups (they seem kind of silly) or a gold cross necklace (jewelry on a baby is so weird!). Does anyone have any suggestions?

dream. I dreamt I discovered a large room under my house, and I could only get to it going down a ladder when I lifted a couple of floor boards. The room was large, and had French windows that allowed one to walk into the garden. The room was furnished and I saw mice droppings on the floor, which
annoyed me. Was this a spiritual message?
does anyone know the meaning.

Hey Christians! Here’s something that will make your brains tingle:

According to the Bible God is All-Powerful. This means there are no limits to his power. He can do ANYTHING. This includes the power to make himself All-Knowing. Obviously this means he knows absolutely everything. He knows everything that's ever happened, everything that's happening right now, and everything that will happen in the future with everything from what you're thinking to how many cells there are in your body etc. Absolutely everything!

Apparently he also made us.

So, when God makes someone, he knows everything that that person will do in their lifetime before they're even born…. because he knows everything.
The problem is, why does he still choose to place “evil” people on this planet? He knows that they'll end up in hell once they die, so is he not condemning that person to hell before they're even born? There doesn't seem to be any justice or logic in there, it sounds more like a trap.
