One of the biggest puzzles for me of religion is if EVERYTHING has to have a creator where did god come from. If you think eyes were complicated a being that supreme would be much more complicated. Are there like a million gods that created other gods? I just don't get it.

This article is the one another questioner brought up earlier (I think) re: a Colorado town and banning Christmas trees from city property. To everyone here, regardless of belief...is this a bit too much? Are we treading on the absurd? Would love to hear input from all.

I know fornication is a sin. I'm really trying to keep from doing anything in the 10 commandments and what the bible would consider to be a sinful act. Being a 20 year college junior, it's not easy to refrain from fornicating, but I do fancy alot of the girls on campus. I only found out that it was a sin about 3 weeks ago when I heard a man preaching about the bible in the court yard as I passed him by. I felt really, really guilty when I heard that this was a sin, asked for forgiveness and haven't done it since.

However, I still lust for some of the girls here. I can't help it. I'm also planning on going to medical school, so I don't intend on getting married anytime soon. What can I do?

Im asking myself why the heck am i even living for?My dad calls me bad names and tells me that i wont do anything in life.
He always takes my sister's side even when she's wrong. And its because she older than me and has her own life and everyone loves her. She is very mean once she told my mom to shut up.She talks back to my parents. And whenever theres a fight at our house im the one praying to God asking him to give my parents their happiness.

ALSO,I have a lil mentally challenged brother who i have been taking care of him all my life.Whenever im having a bad day they think im mad and lecture me on how i turture them, etc. But they never realized What i go through and that theres no happiness in life because i have the responsibility of their son!

I dont blame my bro but my life.I pray everyday but ALOT OF TIMES i asked God why did he gave me this life?(btw im almost 17)Im not able to stay happy at all even when im with my friend(in school)im always quite, its like i forgot how to smile. Also no one likes me and i mean NO ONE!Im dieing day by day. What did i do wrong that God is punishing me like this so harshly? : (

Why are there so many Y!A accounts with cats as their avatar in the R & S section? Are these Felintheists? Is there a felinism movement? I see way more cats as avatars then I do any other type of picture (other then the standard cartoon head you can make sort of look like you if you squint).

I'm talking about atheists in particular. Do you automatically make negative assumptions about us, such as moral character, behavior, and personality, when you find out that we are atheists? Or do you treat us like any other person?

In other words, would you be my friend in real life if I told you I was an atheist when we first met?

A friend just told me about this site, I thought it seemed cool. Here is the e-mail I got about it:

"A food-linked word game put on the Internet a month ago has proved a runaway success and has already generated enough rice to feed 50,000 people, the United Nations World Food Program said Friday.

FreeRice offers participants multiple-choice definitions to the meaning of a word, with each correct click generating 10 grains of rice for the WFP. The brainchild of American online fund-raising pioneer John Breen, the Web site FreeRice.com relies on advertising revenue to underwrite its rice campaign.

"The site is a viral marketing success story with more than 1 billion grains of rice donated in just one month to help tackle hunger worldwide," said Josette Sheeran, executive director of the Rome-based WFP. On October 7, the day it was launched, just 830 grains of rice were donated. But the Internet community quickly caught on, and on November 8 alone 77 million grains were donated!!

Father Reilly proclaimed that they would, but I don't trust him.

Bobby is cool and he helped me with science fair project, and gave me iPod for my birthday, and there's no way he's going to Hell.

My brother might have hard time trying to explain to St. Peter at Pearly Gates why he ratted me out to my mom, when I was caught stealing his sigarettes. But Father Reilly will have much harder time explaining why he reached into my pants and grabbed my private parts.

I got my account deleted for the second time, and the abstract rage I felt at this GRIEVOUS injustuce (Vengence will be mine I tells you!) inspired me to quit R&S completely.

...That was yesterday.

Honestly, I was felt a bit left out that no one picked me as an online R&S dork-crush in the seemingly endless stream of questions about that lately. Anyway, even though you cause me frustration (((R&S)))

Does anyone else think we R&S regulars might be just a bit unhealthily addicted to this? Is there anyone or group of people who keep you comming back?

The book of Mormon just changed. Before anybody says it was ones persons opinion its something that the church has been teaching for decades. This is what I was taught before I was baptized. Here is the change.

"After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are the principal ancestors of the American Indians."

The new BOM will state this….

"After thousands of years, all were destroyed except the Lamanites, and they are among the ancestors of the American Indians."

What does this change? Everything every missionary has taught. For the first time the LDS church is quietly agreeing they were not in America first. They are admitting others were here first. They just joined in.

What does it mean? I don’t know. What does it mean to you? Why did they just change it without any announcement to a major change in how we were taught to believe, they just had General Conference. Why did the publisher know before the members?
