I don't understand this please help!!.....

Well, the teleological argument is about God being the designer of the Uinverse ect.... then why do people like atheists agree with the idea of Evolution? I understand why people would agree with the Big bang theory because it has scientific evidence, but does evolution??- how can something like an eye evolve??

Please explain to me why people like the theory of Evolution rather than the teleological argument.

Thanks x

Okay, I have three different questions for you, which are related to each other. I would ask that you read each question in order, and think carefully about each question, formulating your answer to each one BEFORE reading the next question. Oh, and if the second question doesn't apply to you, don't post an answer.

Okay, now for the questions:

1. Many people believe that blacks in the United States should be given compensation from whites because their ancestors were slaves some 150 years ago. Do you believe that white people should be morally required to provide this compensation?

***

2. If you believe, either literally or metaphorically, in the biblical account of Adam and Eve eating the apple, do you think that modern people morally deserve to go to Hell for a choice which their distant ancestors made and which they had no power over?

***

3. Now, if you answered 'no' to the first question and 'yes' to the second question, how do you reconcile those two positions?

I am so tired of people making excuses for men ... "He's a man and you can't nag a man or he won't do this or that" or "He's a man so if you want it done you have to do it yourself". When does a man have to step up to the plate and take responsibility for his own actions? That doesn't make sense.

But what I am referring to is cleaning house, doing laundry (other than his laundry), grocery shopping, paying bills, listening to issues, etc. My husband shuts anything out that isn't what he wants to hear about and it makes me so mad. He does clean but he only cleans the kitchen when HE wants to cook something and it's too messy. He does gather and set the trash out for pickup once a week, and he does mow the lawn once or twice a month. Other than that, he does what HE wants to do as HE sees it necessary. I used to clean all the time but stopped after I saw he didn't think he had to. I cook when I get ready. Maybe I'll run an errand that he asks me to or maybe I won't.

I think that they are different. Karma is universal law of cause and effect. It has nothing to do with morals or religion. God however, rewards the good and punishes the bad. Therefore, karma exists for atheists and God for the Christians.

Most atheists say they like to research other religions. (That I have spoken to, I mean.) So I'm just curious how many of you have read it.

(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

Obviously they believed in Jesus. so what made them unaccaptable? evidently they weren't as saved as their religious teachers told them , right?

what does it take to be saved? (Matthew 24:13) 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

(Philippians 3:13-14) . . .Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having laid hold on [it]; but there is one thing about it: Forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things ahead, 14

perhaps this question is more for Catholics, but I do know some non-Catholic Christians who also went there, and as a result converted to Catholicism.

My sister recently went, and she returned a different person. She was healed of mental illness, and no longer needs medication.

I am interested in your experience.

christians have an excuse for everything.
if there is anyone who dares to have their own opinion about what they believe, they get offended and immediately try to proof them wrong.

Also,
the bible might say all these things, but who knows it is 100% fact?
seriously.
It is just like as if I would read a Dr. Seuss book to you, would you believe everything said in it?
I am not saying God does not exist, I do not know, he might and let me tell you, that you will be surprised to find out how many christians arent actually 100% sure either if God exists, but are pressured into attending church.
let kids make their own choices.
i grew up in an atheist family, and it is not like we go outside and scream "we are anti-christ, join usss"
no we don't and we accept everyones religion, my sister who is 8 wears a cross around her neck, she beliefs in God and we do not tell her she is wrong or anything, let people believe in what they want to.

Religion is nothing more than old school politics. Countries create laws to control how people act, religions create creeds to control how people think. In religion, you dont kill because you will go to Hell(or equivalent ), by law, you dont kill because you will go to jail. Either way, you dont do something because you fear the consequences. I do, but who else believes religion is only here to control how a certain group of idealists think, and to give simple answers to complicated questions?

people make WILD UNFOUNDED CLAIMS FROM HERESAY, Jehovah's witnesses religion is no secret, go to http://www.watchtower.org don't believe lies especially from drop out JW's who couldn't make the grade & are angry like Satan. wanting to harm people who only try to free people from the Antichrist. Jesus had the same problem, but (2 Thessalonians 2:3-12) . . .Let no one seduce YOU in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god. 5 Do YOU not remember that, while I was yet with YOU, I used to tell YOU these things? 6 And so now YOU know the thing that acts as a restraint, with a view to his being revealed in his own due time. 7

Salaam

First off--I AM MUSLIM, and I live in America.
I'm noticing that MANY Arabs in America are now mis-pronoucing their names, so that their names will sound "non-Arab" --and its getting ridiculous.

For example, I know an Arab man named Koran who tells everyone his name is "Karn".

I know that Arabs & Muslims are afraid to let white Americans know they are Muslim--but giving false pronunciations of your name seems a bit too much and seems fake. Is this because you are afraid of backlash? Whats up with this?

...Also, it amazes me that many Muslims will not even return the greetings of a Muslim woman who doesnt cover her hair--yet you'll go around pretending you are not Muslim by messing up your names.

Ok--Your thoughts??

I'm just curious.
