(Matthew 7:21-23) 21 “Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

Obviously they believed in Jesus. so what made them unaccaptable? evidently they weren't as saved as their religious teachers told them , right?

what does it take to be saved? (Matthew 24:13) 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved.

(Philippians 3:13-14) . . .Brothers, I do not yet consider myself as having laid hold on [it]; but there is one thing about it: Forgetting the things behind and stretching forward to the things ahead, 14

(James 2:14-17) 14 Of what benefit is it, my brothers, if a certain one says he has faith but he does not have works? That faith cannot save him, can it? 15 If a brother or a sister is in a naked state and lacking the food sufficient for the day, 16 yet a certain one of YOU says to them: “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but YOU do not give them the necessities for [their] body, of what benefit is it? 17 Thus, too, faith, if it does not have works, is dead in itself.

Sorry but these folks have "selective reading disorder". the Matt. 7:21 latter half says, "but the one DOING THE WILL of my Father will [be saved]. That states effort is required to perform some work ordered by God and not just saying, "I have faith."

They have been taught and firmly desire to only say (or possibly just think it) they have faith. Certainly too lazy to notice some work is necessary.

So what if Paul and Timothy did not consider themselves "saved" after years of serving Christ from the quote at Philippians? Surely, aren't these people today better than them? Today people have indoor plumbing and everything! Oh, sorry. Forgot indoor plumbing was a Roman invention.

It's true not everyone who says they believe do. I believe if you were to read on past that point the answer is also there. Also, be careful with verse 21 there because I have read a few different publications of the bible and that wording does seem change a bit between them. I always talk about the Loving the Lord with all your heart and All you soul, and Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Chist said to effect. He said that would cover all the other laws. Then other places in the Bible he states that if you love your Father then why didn't you do as he commanded? Please investigate this, we are saved by Christ and the directions are easy, but the path is said to be difficult to stay on. If the path seems to easy maybe it is. Try to rely less on your knowledge but more on the Insight provided by the Lord and Savior.

These people are really saved because they call the Lord , Lord. That chapter does not talk about being saved or not, it is talking about entering into the kingdom of the heaven in its manifestation as a reward. They lose the reward of entering into the kingdom because they did things, works of lawlessness, without right to do that.
In conclusion, yes, they are saved, but will not receive a reward in the kingdom.
Everybody who believes in the Lord and receive Him as his Savior is saved. The Lord made easy, but to receive a reward you have to work according to God's law.

The key to that verse is the last sentence. Depart from me you workers of lawlessness, other translations say workers of inequity. Means the same thing. An amplified version of that would read like this

depart from you who live as if I never gave you a law to obey.

Anyone who continues to live thier life in sin, or another way of saying it, anyone who leads a style of life that is in contradiction with the Laws of God are not known by Jesus. They are not saved and unless they repent(turn from sin) and beleive in Jesus Christ (belief will be evidenced by what they do and do not do) they will perish.

A good sermon called "examine yourself" by Paul Washer or "Hell's Best Kept Secret" or "True and False Conversion" by Ray Comfort will help understand the difference. I do lean more to Paul Washer's message. You can get it my going to http://www.sermonindex.net/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?op=&cid=442

Addressing the belief that saying the name of Jesus and beleiving in Jesus will save you. (It is more than saying a name, and believing something about Jesus or a Jesus).

When the jailer asked Paul what must I do to be saved, we assume that what Paul told him was the works by which we must be saved. You must understand prior to the jailer asking that question he had listened to Paul and Barnabas singing hyms in prison. It is reasonable to beleive those hyms were about them being saved by the work that Jesus had done.

So he had heard the gospel from Paul and Barnabas through song, he desired to be saved, and had heard about Jesus through the songs. So when Paul said call upon the Name of the Lord, the jailer knew the name or character of Jesus. He had also heard what needed to be beleived.

Everyone who calls on the Lord to be saved will. Jesus is talking about people who use Christianity for their own means, and aren't true followers of Christ.

They believed in their works instead of the Gospel. Look at them try to justify themselves by works. That's why they are unsaved.

You're twisting the other verses.

The truth is, all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10). The only way to be saved is to BELIEVE that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).

Once you accept Christ as your savior, you begin a walk down a narrow road. Christ can forgive you for your past sin, but you have have to walk with Christ thereafter and do your utmost to avoid future sin, as hard as that is. If do sin, you then must confess it to Christ, ask for forgiveness, and then repent of the behavior.

Ultimately, someone who is reborn spiritually should seek to be as "Christlike" as possible. It is our mission of sanctification that leads us not only to act like Christ, but to think like him as well. It's a narrow path to walk.

The world is ripe with the sins of the flesh, and only through prayer, sacrafice, self-discipline, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to help us, can we ever hope to obey God's plan for us to its fullest.

Glory to God in the highest! Bless you all!

its kinda like fake christians, They believe OF Jesus, but do they beleive IN him. And its pretty clear that there are people who call jesus Lord but they dont beleive in Him properly. The only thing it takes to be saved is to believe in Christ as YOUR LORD AND YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR.

well those folks in Matthew obviously didn't do the will of God the Father. They were doing their own thing.
This is like the army and the Christian is a servant, or soldier and he obeys God's orders and doesn't just do his own thing.
