Because these are updated versions of the bible...and in their updating they have moved from the truth..

A virgin is far different than the translation "yound girl" or "young maid" that some traslate it to be.....

I'll stick with the KJV...I don't need an update..it was good enough for my Great Grandmother,,,it is good enough for me.

Because that is one of the most containing errors version in the world. For example: the word Godhead, according to the Greek, is used only once in the Bible (Col. 2:9) but in the KJV you can find that word in Romans 2:20. That was written by somebody without a vision.
In Strong concordance: Col. 2:9 (2320)
Rom. 2:20 (2305)
The Recovery Version of the Bible is really good. Because it gives you the real word.

Because that particular translation has been in the public domain for close to 400 years. It's the translations that are copyrighted, not the material.

It is copyrighted in the U.K. It was copyrighted with exclusive publishing rights for a articular company until the American revolution

Because the old KJV is so errant that no one follows it aside from non mainline groups that it does not need to be copyrighted. No major religion claims it. The new translated version I believe is copyrighted by Oxford Press

The others are interpretations of the Holy Bible therefore a man's understanding of the Bible and he wants credit for his writings.
