"The life and opinions of Tristram Shandy," is a graphic novel of extraordinary complex and bizzare assertions of doubtful veracity... Yet it is more interesting, entertaining and historically accurate than the Bible... So if people can accept "intelligent design," and a magical deity who likes to sadistically torment his creations as fact... Why not Tristram Shandy?

I have heard many references to the Queen's Christmas speech. Could someone please flesh it out a bit? Is it a well-wishing kind of thing? Is it inspirational?

I'm seriously considering converting, as the religion makes perfect sense to me, and answers questions i've had my entire life... but when reading the rede earlier, it dawned on me that if i become wicca, it will hurt my family... they would not understand. my immediate family is supportive, my boyfriend and close friends, but my mother and my cousin probably wouldn't understand. I know it would hurt my mother for her to think that i'm not 'fully christian' anymore... 'harm none' means not to hurt them emotionally too... I have no probelm hiding it from her, and just not telling her, but i don't want to lie to her. I'm also being pulled in different directions about Christmas, since it is one of only two times of the year that my family gets together... And it's at my house. I see Jesus as a wonderful prophet, and a great leader, but i don't feel right worshiping him when i think of becoming wiccan... What are your thoughts? and please, only serious answers... Thanks, everyone!

to receive any blood and that this is the reason that they dont have blood transfusions, quoting Acts I think.

However Witnesses up until the early 1960s WERE ALLOWED by the Organisation to have blood parts and transfusions.

Since the Organisation was founded in the1870s, does that mean that the Witnesses was unaware what the Bible said regarding blood for over 80 years.

People often misinterpret this phrase. The word "God" in the pledge of allegiance is not narrowed to just the Christian God. In the nation of Islam, they have "Allah." Is he not the "God" of their religion? In buddhism, is Buddha not the "God" of their religion? Get it together folks. Ever since this country was established Christianity/Protestant has been the official religion so why change it now?

i was brought up under the jehovahs witness faith, but my family had some difficulties with their doctrines and we slipped away from the faith as I got older. Now I am eager to return to God but cannot find a christian group that I feel i can trust, since all my foundation beliefs have been shaken to pieces. Has anyone else experienced similar? anyone become disillusioned with the Jehovahs Witnesses? What did you do about it?

Personally I don't. Seasons to me mean things that change and sway. Jesus didn't save us for a season. He saved us forever. But what do you think?

In the verb tense passé composé when do you add the -s at the end of the verb? I know it is for plural subjects but is vous (for example) plural or not? Would it be right to say Vous etes parles?

Thank you. If you have any tips or trick on how to study french verbs quickly it would be appreciated!

Many times when I am troubled or confused, I find comfort in sitting in my back yard and having a vodka and cranberry along with a quiet conversation with Jesus. This happened to me again after a particularly difficult day.I said "Jesus, why do I work so hard?" And I heard the reply: "Men find many ways to
demonstrate the love they have for their family. You work hard to have a peaceful, beautiful place for your friends and family to gather. "I said: "I thought that money was the root of all evil." And the reply was: "No, the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Money is a tool; it can be used for good or bad. "I
was starting to feel better, but I still had that one burning
question, so I asked it. "Jesus," I said, "what is the meaning of life? Why am I here?" He replied: "That is a question many men ask. The answer is in your heart and is different for everyone. I would love to chat with you somemore, Señor, but but I must get back to mowing your yard."

A 22 year old mother has died after giving birth to twins. Allegedly she had refused, on religious grounds, a blood transfusion which may have saved her.

What an utterly pointless loss of a young life.

Apparently in the UK doctors are not able to overule their patients religious beliefs. I would argue that in these cases the patients brain is so riddled with irrational belief that they are incapable of making a sensible decision. I think that doctors should medically intervene to protect the patients interests, and the interests of her now motherless children.
