i think he should be the reason year round. we should try to treat our fellow man in a Christlike manner all year round, not just around the holidays.

Jesus was NOT born in December so that puts the whole BIRTHDAY thing out of the question. Early Christians adopted early pagan celebrations as a way to help convert them over. So a festival of trees during the winter solstice brings us Christmas trees during a season that really had nothing to do with Jesus... it was all a matter of convenience. Like hey, you know that really big and fun holiday you heathen pagans like so much, well we celebrate that too... yeah um, uh it just so happens to uh um be the birthday of our lord.

Perhaps you misunderstand the saying. I believe that is refering to Christmas and that he is the True reason for christmas, not all the commerciallism and greed that is commonly associated. It's just a silly saying to remind us what the true meaning of christmas is all about. As for yourstatments, you are right. He did save us forever (if we accept him) and he never changes.

if you are speaking of christmas, i think that it should be, but this world has commercialized it and changed it into nothing but a big money gimmick. your right jesus is the same no matter the season, we should thank him everyday for what he did not just on christmas. good question, makes you think!!!

The saying is meant for the Christmas Season and to avoid forgetting what CHRISTmas is really all about. The pressures of commercialization has taken the CHRIST out of CHRISTmas.

No. I think that the winter solstice was celebrated by pagans and the Christian church decided to celebrate Jesus' birth then since they knew the pagans would celebrate any way.
