If an Atheist is wrong then he or she will personally pay a penalty... One most of us are more than willing to take a chance on...

But if the christians are wrong the effect on the LIVING earth is enormous...
When a christian asks, what if you are wrong, they don't ever take into consideration... what if we are right.. The consequences to the earth are enormous... Why should life itself depend on what happens when one dies? Death occurs no matter what, but what we do in life affects the world.... What if the christians are wrong... they are destroying the planet... they are promoting hatred, ignorance, bigotry, war, in a world our children will have to live on... What if the christians are wrong... they are leaving future generations in the lurch.. just as our parents left us... 2000 yrs of the same dead end debate... So christians don't assume that there is no consequences for your actions... For we Atheist know that what occurs in life is more important that death..

All of us believers will receive gifts that bring us infinite happiness, but you non-believers will be left with empty stockings and a bare floor under their tree.

Santa only brings you presents if you believe. If you don't believe, you get nothing.

So why don't you believe so that you'll get the reward? I mean, it's not like belief requires evidence or anything.

1 Peter 3:21
"Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ"

Most protestant churches teach that baptism is just symbolic and does not actually save us. Why, then, does Peter say that baptism does indeed save us? Because baptism, contrary to protestant teaching, is salvific (effecting salvation). Through the merits of Christ's resurrection, baptism, the sacrament of Christian initiation instituted by Christ, washes us clean of original sin, makes us adopted sons and daughters of God and brings us to salvation.

I see so many pagans saying they don't raise thier children in thier path. I wonder why. My kids will be raised in the Heathen path BUT I expose them to all religions and won't disown them if they choose another one. But this thier heritage. I think it's important to know it and be a part of it, even if at one point they choose not to practice it. Why don't pagans raise thier kids in the faith?

I am an Evangelical Christian who was raised Catholic. I see some fundamentalists on this site comment that Catholics are not real Christians and are not saved. Could you please explain why that is?

OK, here’s my version of events that transpired last Saturday at an Under 10 Soccer match. I am not claiming in any way that I am perfect but wanted some other peoples view on this.

During an Under 10 boys recreational soccer game last Saturday, there was a vicious foul where one of my team had his legs taken out from under him and was shoved to the ground, where he landed face first in the dirt and was unable to get his hands out to protect himself. The referee didn’t blow up for the foul or even stop play as this lad was on the floor screaming and in obvious distress. I am the assistant coach on the team and waited as long as I could (Approx 15-20 seconds), before running on to the pitch to check on the lad. As I was running onto the pitch in the heat of the moment I evidently said “God Damn” out loud, not at the top of my voice, but probably loud enough that some people heard it. The referee then blew his whistle, turned to me and told me to watch my language, to which I replied “you blow your whistle”.

When I reached the lad who was in distress it was plain to see he was hurt, so I carried him off the field and helped him out.

After the game the Head coach of the team came to me and said she was offended by my language as I ran onto the field, to which I said I was sorry but it was a pure exclamation due to the fact there was a kid hurt and nobody was taking any notice.

Here’s where it get’s interesting, I thought it was all over and settled, but come Wednesday I get a call from the league Director of Coaching who says that my Coach has complained that I ran onto the pitch and cursed out the referee, without mentioning that someone had been fouled and injured and that she (The Coach) wants me suspended for 1 week. I told this guy my side of the story, but he wasn’t receptive to hearing anything different from what he had been told and told me that my presence at games and practices this week is not welcome. After this, later on Wednesday I receive an e-mail from the Coach telling me that unless I apologize to the whole team for my language she doesn’t want me back on the team, in her words there was no justification for saying the 2 words that I said.

There have been multiple e-mails back and forth but the main gist is I have already apologized to her for inadvertently offending her and explained again it was an outburst in a stressful situation where the kids wellbeing was foremost in my mind, not the language I used.

The end result is I have now been kicked off the team because one person (in my opinion), is putting 2 words which can be heard everyday in the real world above the safety of the kids we coach, after already having had an apology.

Sorry that this has dragged on but I am very interested in others opinions.

I'm not really trying to imply a correlation between intelligence and religion, but we all know very well that some very brilliant people are atheists. If God were real, you'd think they of all people would be able to figure that out, and not be "tricked" by Satan. Right?

I mean, you guys seem so intent on legislating everything else about your religion on everyone else (gay marriage). Maybe kids who have sex before marriage should be hauled away in police cuffs. That would certainly be fair to all the folks that don't believe the nonsense you believe in.

I gave just a general statement about me being a Christian and getting a tattoo today. I had a couple people ask what it is a tattoo of...it'll be 8 Christian fish with a cross. Basically 4 fish on one side of the cross, then a cross, then 4 fish on other side...it's an arm band.

The comment was made, and sounded something like, "how will a non-Christian know you're a Christian if they see you have a tattoo?" Would there be any doubt after seeing a Christian fish and cross tattoo banded around my arm?

Now, with that given information, would you see me (a Christian) getting a tattoo (of a symbol of Christ) wrong?

You would go to your grave not believing it one bit or perhaps see the end of the world if it comes in your lifetime. By not believing in God you will go to Hell. God gave you the tools to learn and to listen but you chose to ignore them or not study them to find out the truth not just believing everything Science throughs at you. They are wrong all the time. You may think how can you believe if there is no proof to see. Well my friend Science did not see the beginning therefore Evolution is a theory and takes faith to believe in. You have a choice faith in Evolution (which will take you nowhere) or faith in God (which will let you live for ETERNITY in Heaven. If I am wrong and I Die Oh Well at least I lived a good life not fearing death. If your wrong and there really is a God you will regret it for ETERNITY in Hell, there's not turning back! There's no harm in Believing in God. By not believing your setting yourself up for Eternal Damnation. Just remember Could Science be wrong???
