I'm not really trying to imply a correlation between intelligence and religion, but we all know very well that some very brilliant people are atheists. If God were real, you'd think they of all people would be able to figure that out, and not be "tricked" by Satan. Right?

Well, not all people want to believe in God and worship Him. God created us differently from each other. If we were all intelligent then the world would all be boring. So, Satan can deceive the smart people because not all of them believe in God. He is real.

Rev Soleil said: And more importantly: how is it Satan managed to fool all these Nobel Prize winners and respected scientists, but not YOU?

Reverend Soleil: The following laws as in the literature are wrong: Definition of mass, relativity, quantum mechanics, Diffusion, redshifts, mathematical expression of the fine structure constant, ... Just because the respected scientists won Nobel Prizes and the adoration of others doesn't mean that their theories are correct and representative of reality. LOL: all the theories have been wrong, we have been deceived. Our definition of mass is wrong, and all theories depend on the wrong definition of mass, hence, all theories are wrong. A Nobel prize does not indicate truth. Seems that you have replaced God with a hunk of metal and a few million dollars, and a bunch of fans -- that's idolatry. And the question is right: How did Satan do that? Deception, the original sin, the false belief in the tree of knowledge -- which is dead now. Try the Tree of Life, then see how science has been mistaken.
Why wasn't I deceived? I guess I was protected by grace. It is pointless to measure the intelligence of people in grace -- what they know cannot be tested, as the testers have no idea of how the mind in grace works. Science is in a shambles, and the scientists never should have unleashed the atom on humanity. That was evil.
The Dunce
I feel sorry for the brilliant people who are atheists -- they missed the point, and frittered their gifts away. Such a loss.

Some of the most brilliant people are also the most gullible.

Also remember that as a spirit creature, Satan is still a higher form of life than humans. Thus better abilities. Now he still has stupid moments. He actually thought all mankind would rather worship him than God. However, he wasn't stupid enough to challenge God's power. He knew enough to stay alive, but his pride pushed him to challenge God's Right to Rule His creations. That bought him time as God allowed time for the issue to be settled.

Since the time of Satan being flushed out of heaven, the sewage level of earth has increased and so has his rage. He knows he picked the losing side and soon he will be locked up and eventually killed so the only thing he can do is to take as many people with him as possible.

If a god created all things then it also created a Satan. If you read the bible you find the devil /Satan didn't do half the damage that this god of the bible did.

The only way to be deceived is by the god of the bible. It knows everything you are going to do in this lifetime, it watches everything you do, and supposedly predestines you before you are born [does that really make any sense?]. This god can condemn you to on a whim, send out an army to destroy a town and everything that is alive in it if they don't believe in him/it, change someone into a pillar of salt and so on and so on. I don't recall the devil doing anything even close to that.

It amazes me that if something goes wrong - it must be the devil, if it goes right it must be a god. The real responsibility lies on the person who is actually doing something. To enlighten the world [brilliant minds], is good for everyone. Learning is good, enlightening with what you have learned is better.

Satan tricking anyone is a religious viewpoint. It is silly and childish in this day and age to believe such a thing.

Intelligence or lack thereof has nothing to do with being decieved by Satan:

Revelations 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world

What keeps a person from being decieved is the Spirit of God:

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Satan is also called the Deceiver, in the Bible.
At one time, the smartest people in the world thought the world was flat and that the sun revolved around the Earth.
You assume that people are brilliant....history has shown us differently.
What things do we believe now will be proven wrong in the next 500 years? Nobody knows, so I say let's keep an open mind.

It never ceases to amaze me how people think that the mind of man is so intelligent.

Satan is far more intelligent than any person that ever lived upon this earth. He has lived for thousands of years and known all the intelligent men in every culture throughout the history of man.

The devil deceives the intelligent, brilliant minds of this world everyday. Some of the intelligence that you are talking about comes from demons within the intelligent people who feed information to men.

The only hope that man has is the Holy Spirit within them. Because He that is in me is greater than he(Satan) that is in the world. Without the help of the Holy Spirit you will be tricked and easily tricked.

A lot of brilliant people are Christians, too. Think of some of our founding fathers. But working in the educational field I have met a lot of brilliant people and I can say that, oftentimes, with great intelligence comes great arrogance and that is a weakness Satan can exploit. People have wanted to think they're as smart as God and that they don't need Him since the Garden of Eden.

I think that many of the religions have a distorted image of what satan is... The way I see it, Satan is just the Ego or whatever it is that Keeps us seperated from seeking and finding our highest good...whether Atheist or not, some of the most intelligent minds are able to push past their own ego and strive to find their highest good on their own accord and with their own power, rather than crediting it all to the power of God, so Satan is irrelevant...

Wrong! God is real and yes Satan is deceiver. There are some Christians that are scientists. I know some people that have tons of book smarts but when it come to common sense they are lacking.
