I keep hearing claims from certain Christians that these programmes DO turn gay people straight. Yet, the only proof they can provide is personal testimonies from so-called ex-gay people and the unproven claims of the ex-gay organizations.

Even the study they love to quote from by Dr. Robert Spitzer, was based on 45-minute telephone interviews with 143 men and 57 women and has since been refuted and the claims adjusted drastically even by Sptizer himself because it was not scientific or objective as:
- the sample consisted predominantly of ex-gay activists recruited from anti-gay organizations. Of those who participated, 78 percent were paid spokespeople of these groups. So it was not an unbiased sample.

- The activists' testimonials were not crossed checked for reliability or validity with one-on-one psycho analysis or followed up to see if they were still straight

-40% of the particants were exclusively gay before they attempted to change, the majority were bi-sexual.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me
Thou shalt not make for thyself an idol
Thou shalt not make wrongful use of the name of thy God Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
Honor thy Father and Mother
Thou shalt not murder
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt not steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife

Right now only 3 or 4 are laws. Why are so many Christians more concerned with gay marriage but not the big 10?

Suppose your name is Christian and you're also raised in a Christian family. Later on, you change your belief to another non-Christian religion or become Atheist. Would you change your name?

i mean people live by there life experience.
if you have experienced a lot of hardship from a young age by no fault of your own.
you will find it harder to believe in god and the bible.

if you have had an easy life you would find it easier to believe
in god and the bible, because you wont know what hardship is.

it all depends on your life experience don't you think?

I work in a church and I get a LOT of calls asking for assistance with electric bills, evictions and even people asking for money to stay in a motel. My question, is it OK in your opinion to call churches out of the phone book, simply because you are down and out? I mean, if you don’t attend regularly or believe what they practice, why is it OK to call upon them when you NEED something? Thoughts and feelings on this?

the judeo-christian bible does to support the existance of thier mythology.

which mythology produces the closest thing to something that would qualify as proof.

I know we are splitting hairs here between .0000000000001 and 0. but still just curious as to what you LOGICALLY think presents something closest to bieng what would pass for reliable.

Or is it simply a statement, a valid method of refuting error, and an opportunity for them to examine themselves as to whether what they are saying is true?

Please, no "I come to the door naked" answers. Stick to the subject.

As the Second Coming did not materialize, later gospels, such as Luke and John, and pseudo-Pauline epistles, such as Timothy, deemphasized an imminent end of the world, with the epistle of Peter even rationalizing the delay: "A day is as thousand years . . . in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires . . . where is this 'coming' your Christ has promised, ever since our forefathers died" (2 Pet 3:3–5); and Luke: "No one will say the Kingdom is here or there for behold it lies within you" (17:21).
Just one of the hundreds of contradictions...what are your thoughts? I find it fascinating ,oh the source Wikipedia gospels of st thomas

If muhaamed is the prophet after Jesus, then why does he contradict so much of what Jesus says

if these prophets you call pbuh and the other name

why do they totally disagree with each other

christ confirms what moses has said especialliy with regards to the 10 commandments

Muhammed says a man will be given virgins in paradise,
but this is what christ says

Matthew 22:28-30

Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

Muhaamed says there will be virgins for men

Jesus says there won't even be marriage

quite cleaerly there is a direct contradiction between the words of Jesus and the words of Muhammed

so who is right and who is wrong

as they can not both be right

I do however enjoy watching and listening to many ministers on television and on Christian radio stations. I've been told that your tithe goes to wherever you are getting fed the Word, and you should not split your tithe. So ,short of joining a church that I'm not yet sure about, what do I do?

Okay, my husband & I are throwing a Halloween Party this weekend for 30 of our friends... We spent about $2,000.00 for this event (decorations, booze, food, snacks, candy, soda & etc) if not more. Now I know I am not expecting to gain that much money back but would it be okay to put out a box for donataions? I had made one up today its small, its black and has greens spooky eyes on it and says "party donation" and has hot orange designs but make it cute & not just "hey give us money" ya know? cuz I dont wanna be like that, but I was wondering if that would be okay? We would stick it on the table by the food and such and just w/e gets put in there gets put in there.. Sound okay?? Let me know! Thanks.. I've been to parties before and seen it there so I figured it would be okay... (its not like were charging them to drink per cup or anything) We are adults.... any advice would be great!!!!
