This certainly isn't the future. People don't actually write like this. Maybe one or two phrases in a very casual context (such as BTW (by the way) or BRB (be right back)) but most sensible people wouldn't use it in a formal e-mail or essays. Remember, language change is a very natural concept both written and spoken. Just think, the language used 500 years ago is quite different from that of today. Technology means this language change is happening much quicker but can also be documented. Like in all nature, there'll be a balance and extreme use of condensed language will only run in certain circles.
