Well, according to the bible you are allowed to own slaves and stone your kids. Are you doing that yet?

The bible is the truth. I am not sure who you are, but you are not all-knowing. A life lesson that would be learned by reading the bible and not just examining your own life would be one of contentment in God. You will never be done examining yourself because you can not find any answers that are fulfilling. If you are looking for proof then try to prove that there is no God. Of course you would need to read the entire bible to find out just what that would entail!

Wow!

In this section, where 30 answers are common, no one even tried to answer.

I suggest you remove this, and try again, but spefically address your question to people who believe in the Bible, ("Believers in the Bible, what lessons for THIS life...?" Then ask your whole question, requesting that non-Bible believers not answer.)

But this is amazing to me. After all, the beleivers go on and on about how we "need" the Bible to guide us in this life (some do, anyway), and not ONE person has come up with ONE example, or even tried to answer the question.

In this category, where people are keen to answer everything they see, this question, left up for SIX hours, hasn't gotten one on-topc reply.

Amazing. I've been watching it out of curiosity; I think the social sciences are better guides -- with some serious reflection on the nature of right and wrong) are vastly better guides than the Bible.

But I would have thought all these thumpers could have come up with ONE example.

God starts to talk to you when you ask Holy Spirit of God to guide you. The Bible becomes alive. It is our Maker's life manual for us.
