Suppose your name is Christian and you're also raised in a Christian family. Later on, you change your belief to another non-Christian religion or become Atheist. Would you change your name?

I refer to the name being Christian just like it could be John or Jane. I did not refer to it as a name of Christian origins.

I would so totally change my name. It'd be like having a tattoo of an ex's name on your body.

I may change my online identities (handles) if they no longer reflected my beliefs. But to change my legal name???

To most people, my name has no religious connotation, so for me it is a non-issue.

I know a family with the surname Mormon (one daughter has the misfortune of being Molly Mormon!). A few of my friends are named Moroni. Another friend is Nephi. These names would be inappropriate should they leave Mormonism.

Another friend was born into a Protestant family and given the name "Lono" (named for the Hawaiian god of peace). He never changed his name despite believing in Christ; he takes it as a reminder to be a peace-maker.

No. I was raised Fundamental Baptist. I changed beliefs to Witchcraft when I was 16. I am now 32, and still have the same name I was born with.

just curious what exactly an Atheist name is and how do you determine your name is purely of Christian origin since most names originated years and years and years (you get the point) before Christianity.

My belief's changed, and then I changed my name; not the other way around.

I wouldn't change my name. I would consider changing my middle name though, maybe even last or adding a surname.
