As mythology yes, and as an insight into the culture as well. It's interesting to note that Greek and other mythology probably was inspired by fossils i.e. mammoth skulls look like they have a single eye in the center of a large human skull when viewed from the front.

An interesting thought is that the giants in genesis may have been inspired by fossil bones as well.

I love mythology because it does help to prove most religions wrong or at least misguided.
Pagan "mythology" inspired the freaking calendar! not to mention "Santa Clause" and "The Easter Bunny". So your kids wait up all night on the holiest night in the christian book for a pagan deity to bring them gifts?!?!

Mythology as a whole is a great tool to examine other culture and the past.
For example:
The troll was invented as a creature to keep kids out of the woods so they wouldn't be eaten by the ferell pigs that were realleased from the village for various reasons.

Yes, I am actually extremely interested in mythology - especially ancient Greco-Roman mythology (I also went through phases of Egyptian, Mesopotamian, and Norse mythology). It can be quite interesting really - back then, people didn't simply accept a hero as perfect - they had "heroes" who actually weren't that great of people (i.e. Theseus), and those who made dire mistakes, making their quest fruitless (i.e. Orpheus) and it leads to a more in depth and interesting story - And just that, a story.
Sorry, I really don't really have the time to give an in depth answer, but the answer is yes.

Absolutely.

Some of the best stories of all time come from Mythology.

Also some of the most important life lessons are found there as well. Mythology is very important for society, but can be dangerous when generously applied with faith.

When I was a child I loved hearing about Perseus and the other Greek heroes, they had the best monsters, later on I discovered Norse mythology which has a different kind of beauty.

Its nice to appreciate them now, they're quaint even though I'd have nothing but contempt for someone who took them seriously.

Mythologies are harmless, Christianity and Islam will be relegated to old myths soon enough.

yeah. Although I enjoy the Greek and Norman mythology more than Christian stories. it's probably because I've had to listen to them for the past 10 years.

Yes, I love it. I think Jehovah is one of the most kick butt deities in the whole D&D monster manual. He has 4,500 hit points and an armor class of -35. Only magical weopons can harm him and he's a little bit more powerful than Satan. He knows level 40 spells, and would give Thor a run for his money in a 1 on 1 battle.

Absolutely.

I even find it interesting for the philosophy and concepts it was meant to illustrate.
The Greeks managed to describe almost every mental state and disorder observed in humans. The Chinese were brilliant in regards to the human condition and politics.
The Bible seems to be one of the poorest sources and seems to be concerned mostly with the ideas of a totalitarian state or religion.

I enjoy mythology just as it is. It gives me hope that all these other theistic organizations will also one day become mythology.
