That's what I'm starting to realize. I sorry if this question has been asked before, but I am fairly new. Have any of you realized this too? It seems my generation isn't falling into the delusion many people have, and I'm proud to be a part of that.

In Mark 3:28-29, Jesus says:

"I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

In the verse 28 Jesus says that all sins and blasphemies will be forgiven. Then in verse 29 he says that one blasphemy (a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) won't be forgiven.

My Question:
If all sins and blasphemies will be forgiven (verse28), then why won't a blasphemy against the Holy Spirit be forgiven (verse 29)?

Yesterday, in Why Catholic, one of the members who has a degree in theology mentioned that the story of Creation was simply an ancient myth of the Babylonians, and the story of creation is simply the "why," and not the "how" the world came to be. And tradition explains that God cast Adam and Eve out for disobeying his orders, and listening to satan, and thats why we dont live without evil in our lives, since man willingly disobeyed god. Plus satan is a fallen angel who decided being a servant wasnt good enough for him, and rules hell.

Thanks

you would think that if we evolved that they would have found thousands of this half monkey man thing in the dirt at some time. No they have found like one unusual mess of bones. In the bible man and best lived much longer , Noah was hundreds of years old so if lizzards lived that long and never stoped growning they would have been huge. The earth was soo much healther and things lived longer. that is how the earh was. there is no evidence of any species having changed into another species ever. why do they teach this crap in school if there is no proof. Imagine if they tought the real story of creation in schools Adam and the other half of his sole Eve

Why to pastors and the likes always preach about how they are saved. Surely everyone in the church is saved or they wouldn't be there?

Seriously. Nobody is saying that it has to happen in a church. It's a question of equal legal rights. How would you feel if Muslims or Hindus were legislating all their beliefs here in America?

Can you also see how often and much Jehovah has corrected them? Look how far they have come!

Or do you think its a mixture of both?

Or do you think it is due to todays culture?

Or do you think there are any other reasons?

Please don't say, "a samurai" or "a ninja". Think of something else. I was thinking James Bond.

who is an (Athiest) one minute and a (Christian) the next??

2007-10-25 08:00:35 · 14 answers · asked by Kiwi 5 in Religion & Spirituality

Two of them came to my door a week ago. I was able to give my defenses against Christianity - I am an ex-Christian apologist.

They did not have good answers to my questions and the older of the two promised to come back in a week. (They wanted to have a home Bible study, to which I concurred, but only he returned)

He later identified himself as an elder and after three hours of intense discussion and my showing him my reasons for being an atheist, he suddenly had this look of great relief and spoke:

"It's all been a lie.... I've been brainwashed..."

Today, we are both instrumental in de-converting Christians of all beliefs. I won't list my sources, as they are far too many to list here, but suffice it to say, if you really, really, want to know the truth, you'll find a way to find it...

Not in your tired Christian sources either - find out for yourselves!

He searches out and actually does (for as long as he can stand it) some of the dirtiest jobs in the US. I'm not sure they could pay me enough to do his job. I guess the point is, somebody has to do every nasty, dirty job there is to be done and we should appreciate the fact that someone does it so we don't have to. Are there any dirty jobs you just couldn't do?

Why do some have this superiority complex to think they must be far smarter to not believe? Question after question seems arrogant, and superior. I know some Christians give off the same, but I'll politely debate anyone, just don't be so naive to think we take our belief in God on some whim, or as a replacement for having no better answer. Can you at least admit you have no better solution for the orgin of all things, therefore there is, at least, a possiblity of God? That admission doesn't mean you have to change from being atheist, it just means you agree that there are things science doesn't explain, therefore God is as sane an answer as any other possibility. Interested in your thoughts, appreciate well thought out answers only please...
