Please don't say, "a samurai" or "a ninja". Think of something else. I was thinking James Bond.

Well if you're thinking that James Bond is a good match for a geisha - then you could go as pretty much anything you like.

Personally I think it would be nice to keep the Japanese theme so, if you're dead set against a samurai (expensive) or a ninja (easy to do), then how about as a kamikaze pilot? Or, unless you're a PC kind of guy you could go as a Japanese gaming geek (you know, buck teeth, glasses as thick as milk bottle bottoms, dodgy velour sweater and nylon trousers).

If you want something that will match with a geisha, a asian themed costume would be best. But I guess James Bond would be okay...............I mean......you don't want to go as a samurai or a ninja, so, in that case you could pretty much go as anything else you want!

I think the samurai is the equivalent of the geisha, but if you want to go as James Bond, go ahead. You could also go as a Marine; when my brother was in the Marines, he met a lot of geishas.

In the 16th- 17th Century an English ( poss. Dutch) seaman was washed up in Japan- after many adventures he was granted the two swords of a Samurai. Why not go in Late Elizabethian male costume.... perhaps with a few strands of seaweed about your kit, showing your shipwreckd status.

If she's a geisha you should be go as something completely opposite, like a monk. OR you could go as a politician and pass it off as sarcasm.

James Bond is really overdone. Go as a monk.
