For some reason, that stands out for me. loved drawing with crayons on the large sheets of manilla paper-gigantic jack-o-lanterns, witches on broomsticks, bright yellow moons and large bats. It was all so much fun because Halloween didn't mean anything to us specifically-no evil or negative associated with it.
I think that artwork was one of the few things that brought happiness to me as a child.
Indeed it was my escape from the real world! Can't remember going trick or treating though.

According to babel translator (I know it's not a perfect system) but they list the words "mas" and "pero" as both meaning "but". I was curious as to whether those two words are interchangeable or whether you use them at certain times. Also, how do you differentiate the pronunciation of the spanish words "mas" and "más" .

(With me it seems to be all guys cause they have to point out I'm half Japanese like I didn't already know that)

Why, when some atheists ask questions respectfully and really want honest, serious answers, do some Christians answer with, "Repent, i will pray for you!!" ? It is quite possibly the most idiotic thing i've ever seen. Why waste your breath on someone who thinks you'll simply be whispering to yourself in a corner?

Also, why, when most of the questions asked my non-theists are so respectful, do some Christians berate them with insults and claim that they will go to hell? It doesn't make any sense! A respectful, honest question should be answered with RESPECT! I dare you to prove me right.

I tried posting this question before, but some wimp erased it. I guess it was too much for their little heart to take.

I don't mean to be rude to anybody with this question, except for those who deserve it. Hence, i tried not to make any generalizations on this post. If i did, i apologize.

I'm 16 and became non-religious about a year ago. My brother (who's 13) got so angry that I was celebrating Christmas and I'm not Christian, while he is. Anyway I didn't find anything wrong with it because I always have and I wasn't celebrating the birth of Jesus I was celebrating the super-spending commercial holiday that in my opinion also seems to be what Christians are celebrating, not Jesus.

What do you think?

I have read the Bible and the Koran and have prayed to both Allah and Jesus and can't make up my mind....

So I should flip a coin or what?

When I pray I feel strongly about both of them - equally.... But I know both cannot be true, but if I follow both of them, at least I'll be living a good life, right?

How does someone determine what is truth? There's good arguments for both sides, and it will take years and years of research to learn the truth behind all of them., but for now, I am compelled to believe both.

Of course I haven't looked at Judaism yet, either!

Seriously - someone please give me a sure-fire way to know which religion is right!!

I feel Mohammad in my heart as well as Jesus and praying to Allah and Jehovah all give the same feelings....

As people become increasingly aware of angels, so the veil between our world & theirs become thinner. The presence of angels are known as Angelic "calling cards." Some examples:
1. You keep seeing white feathers.
2. You smell rich chocolate.
3. You feel a rush of energy down tour spine.
4. Feeling of hands on your shoulder. (I've felt thin several times).
Have you experienced anything like to above or have you experienced an angel's presence in some other way. How would you communicate with an angel anyway?

I am atheist, and I have often been questioned as to why I use phrases such as "Oh my God!" Obviously I use them because of their cultural prevalence, and it doesn't reflect any belief in a god, but I would like to know whether you think I should consider not using such phrases so as to avoid criticism? I have already noticed myself editing my use of such phrases on Yahoo Answers so as people will not make this commonplace criticism. Also, certain religious greetings such as 'bless you' and 'may peace be with you' seem wonderful things to say, but I am concerned as to whether I should avoid them because of my personal beliefs. What are your opinions? Have you experienced this yourself?

When you hear or read the name of God, Jehovah, do you get any negative feeling about it because of the Jehovah's Witness cult over use of His name? Just throwing out this question because I find that there is always a tiny pause in me when I see His name as Jehovah and its something that I am just asking the Lord to wash and clear me from. I was reading in the Old Testament and in one of the Psalms there was the name" Oh Jehovah!" .. I like to pray-read the word and the Lord really had to touch this matter in my heart regarding His name. Please feel free to share anything concerning this matter.

Thank You so much for taking the time to respond
