Do you mean like what Paul said: Who shall deliver me from this body of death? Paul experienced the same thing and he came to the realization or revelation that this is not meant to be like buying candy at the store but rather a continuous relationship that we must daily experience. As we spend time in God's presence we will become more like Him and want Him more.
As long as we are on this earth we will never be perfect but we can certainly mature in Christ. God doesn't expect perfection, He knows what we are made of and that is why He sent Jesus. That is not an excuse to sin but rather a bridge that fills the gap between sinful man (or sin that our bodies and minds are being constantly bombarded with) and a Holy God!
Romans 7:21: I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22: For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24: O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25: I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

This question gave me the opportunity to feed on the scriptures and enjoy what they say about this specific subject. I read Romans 8 and it really ministered to me again. I would encourage you to do the same. This is such an awesome gift that we have to be able to overcome lifes challenges thru the power of God!

You will always have sin and the flesh to deal with as we live in a fallen world. Overcoming is a process not an event when you repent you grow closer to God. Yes it is impossible to conquer sin because you cant do this on your owns strength.
Apart from Christ you cant do anything. Everyone fails.

You need to be human to help others yes you make mistakes you fail you forgive yourself these are learning tools.
There is no such things as saints and everyone sins at least once-HB

God bless you for your honesty and willingness to want to change. E4G

The answer is getting the Holy Ghost. See Acts 2:38 for the whole plan of salvation, if in doubt. Back to the Holy Ghost, it won't make you not sin. But it will give you the power over sin. God does give all free agency, H.G. or not. Remember, we have all falen short. We must just repent, turn from our sin, try again. God is faithful and just to forgive if we just ask!

So ---- what kind of sin are we talking about here? You thoughts of the 'girl next door'? Killing the neighbours cat? Impure thoughts?

According to Christians all you need to do is believe in Jesus Christ. Relax. If you already do this what problem do you have? Live a good life, reason and become Atheist, and be happy. Just kidding about the Atheist thing. I don't think you're strong enough.

We are sinners even once we are saved but we dont need to struggle with it anymore, Jesus died to save us from our sins and make us 'Godly' in Gods eyes. You dont need to conquer sin Jesus did it, just live in His grace and rest easy all the hard work has been done! God knows you are not perfect, just keep serving him, he loves you even when you fail.

You just need to fall in love with G-d. Yes, be mindful of the law (the written code), but live in His love and joy (in the Spir-t).

read Romans 7:6 - 8:1

and what that says is that you can not follow the law in your own strength, but in Christ by His Spir-t.

25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

You need to realize we cannot conquer sin, we will always fail, because we are born in sin.

Christ has defeated sin and death and makes his righteousness our righteousness. If we beliveve this, we are saved and we are moved to live a holy life by the working of the Holy Spirit.

The way to become Godly is let God have control. We have to give it up to God. Sometimes it takes deliverance. But I may be strong in an area that you aren't and vice versa. So we are to minister to each other, and pray for each other, and hold each other accountable. We can't do it in our own strength.

You cannot. Only God can. The only way is to focus more on Him and less on yourself. Like Paul said "I must decrease so that He will increase." The trick is to stop trying and totally surrender to God. As humans we have a natural desire to be in control (of our own lives), but the only way to conquer sin is to give up or surrender control to God and let Him do it for us. He is faithful to do so, but it's up to us to allow it.

A prerequisite for this work is to have a clear understanding of God and His attributes, what man is in truth, and the subtlety of sin and evil.
First, one must be able to recognize the face of evil in order to trample it under foot.
