Thanks for your answer. I heard that it is very expensive and some wish they didn't have to do it anymore. But then, there are demographics.

Why are you comparing the U.S. Census to an ancient Biblical census?
The forefathers wanted a census to study the population growth in the new United States. The census, among many things, decides the representation in Congress- in the House of Representatives. It also provides important information how old the population is, where the large population centers are, and so on. Federal funds are distributed based on census figures.
What does that have to do with the King James version of the Bible?
