Why does Hollywood always portray fat, ugly, socially retarded nerds with "good hearts" as worthy of getting the babe, while a fat, ugly woman with a good heart will die miserable and ALONE?

I've had strong intuitive feelings for quite a while, a friend asked me what I thought would happen in a situation with her and her a guy and I told her he would contact her around his birthday, with a witty message most likely by the weekend. He did call her in fact. She called me and was amazed.

We were also in his neighborhood one day and I told her, you're going to see him. He was sitting on his porch.

Am I just making lucky guesses or is this intuition? I am freaked out

I know this is a weird question. Most of us accept the environment in which we are born, but I think that I would "claustrophobic" in some way being so far from the coast.

How you live without fresh seafood is a whole other story!

you don't indoctrinate them with the idea that an all-knowing being sees and dissaproves of even their slightest infractions? Or if you don't tell them that big mistakes are punished with eternal torment? Isn't it better to raise children to have a perpetual sense of guilt and fear of punishment?

By telling them that no matter what they do, their souls bear the burden of original sin, aren't we inspiring them to work even harder at being good?

asking out of curiosity,

Example: would an atheist, ( especially someone who hasnt been indocrinated by family or anyone else) understand the love expressed by phrases like: my creator, the one Ive come from the one Im going to...etc

Can they relate?

Or is it a completely bogus concept that is far from being related to?

When atheists stereotype Christians, Muslims, or 'fundies' isn't merely the flip side of stereotyping of atheists?

Say, for instance, "All atheists are just Madalyn Murray O'Hair clones minus the fairies, FSMs, unicorns and Noah's arks."

Isn't watching atheist behavior on RS just too reminescent of watching O'Hair on television weekly, Austin, TX, circa 1969, to easily resist?

Im not trying to diss you and your religion. but I really dont understand like how your religion says that only a set amount of people actually go to heaven, I think God would never do that, God is seen as loving right? so dont you think he'd be pretty fair and let other people other then the people who are jehovah witnesses, Im a deist but I mainly fall on christianity, and I think that athiests even should be able to go to heaven, as long as their good people and are sorry for what they have done. I just cant see any God ever turning away someone whos good but didnt necessarily believe in him.
Im really sorry if I'm wrong there all my information is from a friend, so I could be wrong, So please dont get upset if i'm wrong, I think you guys are pretty nice, I know a few and there proper nice people!

I for one do not see Mormons as Christian. This is following the same progression that makes Christianity not Jewish; new doctrine. To the Hebrew Bible, Christians have added the New Testament. Mormons has taken both, and added the following texts: Pearl of the Great Price, The Book of Mormon, and D&C (Doctrines and Covenants). Those four scriptures form what is known as a quad (mind you, the King James version of the Bible is solely used.)

Does it not form a new religion when new doctrine is added?
Mormonism is not merely a denomination of Christianty, but a seperate religion on its own.

I am not detracting ANYTHING from Mormonism by calling it "non-christain", but it should be called for what it is: a new religion.

I promise you that am NOT attacking, I am sincere and curious.

I have been reading the Catholic Catechism recently, and I must confess that it is much “better” then I imagined. It seems many Catholics simply don’t know much about the Bible, the Gospel, or even their own Catechism.

In any event, point number 3 of the CC says:
“Those who with God's help have welcomed Christ's call and freely responded to it are urged on by love of Christ to proclaim the Good News everywhere in the world...”

So, if Catholics (laity included) are urged to proclaim the “Good News” (i.e. Gospel) everywhere in the world, then why don’t I see this?

Sure, Catholic priests of old were often very evangelical and often martyrs. And there are, perhaps, FEW today. But, out of the entire Church (laity included), it seems less than 1% proclaim the Gospel…and around the same percentage of Catholics wouldn’t even be able to articulate the Gospel message!

Why is this?
