When atheists stereotype Christians, Muslims, or 'fundies' isn't merely the flip side of stereotyping of atheists?

Say, for instance, "All atheists are just Madalyn Murray O'Hair clones minus the fairies, FSMs, unicorns and Noah's arks."

Isn't watching atheist behavior on RS just too reminescent of watching O'Hair on television weekly, Austin, TX, circa 1969, to easily resist?

Zilla: I'm definitely a report monkey. I've reported hundreds of abuse violations, including many by you, and I'll continue to do so.

But I don't visit the Yamster blog site, so you're mistaken there.

I've made no secret of the fact I report ridicule, baiting and attacks on religious faiths and individuals.

I had no idea you were a report monkey.

I gave you more credit and I was wrong.

I am to young to understand what the impact of Madalyn Murray O'Hair she must have known how to work the system to make such a huge impact . I do know her son went on to be a pastor or something.
Are you saying she gave atheist a bad rep?
I find atheist a (not all some are just as bad as fundies) smart & often well read. Making valid points and making believers step up and and review and validate thier beliefs.

I have never said anything about an atheist except they don't believe in God. I have not stereotypical atheist in my mind. I do find some of the atheists that post here rude, mean, and down right vicious. For instance.. One person said they were thinking of killing themself ..an atheist said you will find sympathy between “sh—“ and “syphilis. Isn't that nice!
Go through the posts and count how many times people of all groups say horrid things to each other. I think it is the flip side of good manners and taste.

And, it's fair to assume that all R&S users named 'Jack P' are report-monkeys!

Seriously, some of the stuff I've seen posted by you (here and at the Yamster's blog) makes me feel very sad for you, and sad to think what it must be like to not have a life and to lack a sense of humor :(

Edit: You can keep reporting me all you want, you sad thing - but you'll never manage to make me a miserable person like you. And if you don't visit the Yamster's blog and leave brown-noser comments, then exactly *how* do you explain comment #7?

Jack before I started participating here O'Hair was what an atheist was to me. She was the only person I knew was an atheist.

I met some wonderful people on here who just happen to not believe in a god. Guess what? Most of them have been accepting of me for who I am.

On the other hand, I had seen fundies before I came here. I knew their hate and bigotry was there but I did not realize the extent of their wilfull ignorance until I began to participate here.

I wasn't born in 1969 and your question is badly written.

I'm not completely sure what your point is, other than it seems to be "attack the atheists" day for you.

And don't blasphemy the FSM....perhaps one day you willed be touched by his noodly appendage.

Ramen.

i've known a lot of atheists in my life...and they are definitely a different species than the atheists in this site...most of the atheists i know personally would likely say "i DON'T believe in God, but i DO believe in a life-why waste it on a 'religion and spirituality' forum?"
but then again, most of the atheists i know personally are at least logical and objective, and they don't put make a hobby of putting other people down-they'd HATE this forum!

Perhaps it is our hypocrisy showing?

Of course, this is only the opinion of one middle-aged Christian lady who is getting disgusted with what she is seeing in what passes for Christianity today...
