Why does Hollywood always portray fat, ugly, socially retarded nerds with "good hearts" as worthy of getting the babe, while a fat, ugly woman with a good heart will die miserable and ALONE?

Most people will not like this response and I'll probably get a thumbs down, but here goes: A WOMAN'S ULTIMATE VALUE WILL BE JUDGED ON HER LOOKS. Men are judged on what they have and what they can do. In Hollywood and literature, have you ever heard of a man wanting to fall in love with a "good heart", that he will swim the deepest sea for a "good heart" or that he wants to make passionate love to a "good heart"? A good heart doesn't cause sexual attraction, which is key for all men; if they say different, they are lying.

First of most nerds in movies are not portrayed as retarded.
Second of all, its what sells the stories in the movies, even though it is far from the truth in real life.
In real life anyone that is fat is always considered lazy and can be costly, since not a single health insurance would cover you. Therefor these men or women probably woulndn't end up with a partner.
However, images on tv and other media miconstrued the truth about some one's personality, therefor the public follows conformity instead of their own good judgement about other people's character.
If I were you, I wouldn't worry much about what hollywood offers as entertainment. What you should do is use your own judgement instead of being told how to think about other people's character.

Hollywood portrays women as gold diggers. They are only interested in the bottom line....money and security. If a ugly guy has a great home, money, and offers financial security to a woman, that woman will no doubt be eager to get involved with this person, even though she is not physically or emotionally attracted to him. Like the song says "What's Love go to do with it?" On the other hand, if a woman is is fat and unattractive, she is usually the victim of "gigolos" and "players" that are also only interested in money. Hollywood is fantasyland, and you shouldn't be so mired in how their portrayal of love, money and sex is used.

Because women are set up against impossibly high, artificial standards of "beauty" imposed on us as a society by the media. A ridiculous double standard that we are gullible enough to buy into to support several "beauty" based industries such as cosmetics, advertising, cosmetic surgery, drugs (diet pills etc), the fitness industry and diet centres and self-help books.
This double-standard is a huge industry that our insecurities fund. If we started having good-self esteem based upon who we actually are inside, a LOT of people would be out of jobs!

Because women, by in large see men from the inside out and are more likely to hook up with a man with a good heart, not matter what he looks like. Women are just smarter that way.

LOL, cause men are shollow ******* I guess. I never even noticed that til now... there is a tv soap that has the overweight gal with a hot guy, but every time I see them it just seems unrealistic, only cause I'm so used to not seeing that type of couple... man I'm shallow....

Because Hollywood is a misogynistic institution looking only to SELL, SELL, SELL!!!! and unfortunately, in this society, sex sells. Guys buy into it because they all want to believe they could get Angelina or Halle or whomever, and women buy into it because of insecurity / perceived standards of beauty.
