DON'T worry too much about what you should say to people who are gay or lesbian. Just follow Jesus' advice when He said, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Treat them like you would anyone else.

DON'T talk or think about gay and lesbian people as though they were all the same. There are gay and lesbian Republicans, Democrats, and others who don't vote at all, just like in the heterosexual population. A few gay people are "radical" while most others are as mainstream as apple pie. Some gays and lesbians are alike, others are not alike at all.

DO spend some time to talk to gay and lesbian people. Drop your fear of them. At first, a simple "hello, how are you" may be your goal. Afterwards, you may want to get to know more gay and lesbian people personally and invite them into your life and home.

It's the Garden State, even though I don't think the garden of eden was there, i know that Bruce Springsteen comes from there, so God, even though I can hardly see the beauty thru the smog, I just can't believe you didn't allow me to be from the holy land that is known as "New Jersey"?

The Holy Spirit is God living inside of me, given to me by the Lord. Jesus said in John 14:26 "He will teach you all things". The "He" here isn't masculine nor feminine. I think because it is referenced as "He" people mistake it as a being. It is a spirit; a ghost. It is Jesus's ghost left for us.

I was raised fairly religious, yet as I get older I find more non-mystical explanations for things in the world....for example, the belief in Karma, I came to realize that Karma is probably not some invisible force that comes back to haunt people, but that peoples own actions will eventually catch up to them.....I am finding more and more "secular" and non-religious explanations for everything and I am not even trying to....I am less of a "believer" now than I ever was....now I think "creation" is the silliest mythical story ever!
In a way I am torn on the inside, I want to believe in a God and believe in invisible forces beyond our control, just because it makes our purpose so much easier to grasp, when in reality I think our purpose is even more unknown...and I don't want to pretend to have the answers and live my life doubting everything......

My question is basically how do I find a balance in this, I am torn between my religious upbringing and my secular outlook on life?

I seem to have this pet peeve when it comes to the name Hester. To me, it sounds lovely! It IS lovely--just underrated! It means STAR! And everytime I hear people say they HATE the name Hester, I get pissed off! Really!

I really think the super religious people are evil deep down. They go to church all the time to try to block out the evilness looming in thier hearts. Then they try to push it on others...seriously can't you just worship what you want to and leave everybody else alone?

I have read in YA numerous LDS haters that accuse our church for trying to cover up the MMM. I thought this was interesting. I didn't even know about it until my son studied it in 8th grade history.

I had a muslim try to quote John chapter 8 where Jesus told the mob holding the adulterous woman that whoever is without sin was to throw the first stone. His argument was that because Jesus didn't throw any stone he deduced that Jesus therefore was sinful. Has anyone else been bothered by this guy ?
