Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, or simply "Santa" is a legendary and historical character associated with bringing gifts on Christmas Day.
Saint Nicholas of Myra is the primary inspiration for the Christian figure of Santa Claus. He was a 4th century Christian bishop of Myra in Lycia, a province of the Byzantine Anatolia, now in Turkey. Nicholas was famous for his generous gifts to the poor, in particular presenting the three impoverished daughters of a pious Christian with dowries so that they would not have to become prostitutes. He was very religious from an early age and devoted his life entirely to Christianity.

There is no such thing as a santa clause. There is a subordinate clause, a predicate clause, an adjectival clause and several other kinds of clauses - but I've never heard of a santa clause.

The first santa claus was a bishop (an official of the church) who became the patron saint of children (St. Nicholas).

The story goes that the first time Santa Claus gave gifts: there was a town with 3 poor girls they had their stockings by the fireplace to dry. Ole saint nick had carved some wooden toys for the younger girls and had slipped a few coins into the girls drying stockings. and that is why we continue this tradition of stockings

See the answers above regarding the history of Santa.

Nowadays Santa is a myth, but he has his followers who dress up during the holidays and represent him. Some visit children and hand out gifts. Unfortunately they usually have to be hired.

I am married to Santa. He is very good. You would like him.
