Okay... I know some of you guys have a rule about "taking the name of the Lord in vain, but is "God" really the name of the Lord? I mean, it could be Odin, Zeus, Ra, Jehova, Lugh or YHWH being referred to when someone says "God," because whether or not anyone likes it, the word God does not refer ONLY to YHWH / Jehova. So if someone who doesn't believe in the Abrahamaic deity uses the word godd-mn, are they not blaspheming their OWN deity and not yours?

Do you think the word "God" is at all "holy"? I believe in a deity, but the word "God" means next to nothing to me. If I am actually going for reverence, I can't use the word God because it is simply too mundane.

Your thoughts?

I have had this feeling that I am being watched.. it wakes me up from my sleep. When it first started happening, the feeling I had was rage and I put it off as a dream that had some psychological meaning. I haven't been awakened lihe that since March... well the last two nights I have been awakened with the intense feeling someone (male) is watching me. I haven't told anyone about this because I figured I had some kinda unresolved issue, which still may be true, except that this morning my 4 yr old came downstairs and was telling me all about this scary man in my room who was trying to pick me up and then take some of my things. I was pretty freaked out when he said this and now I'm not too sure what to think. Opinions anyone?

I mean, afterall, Judaism is a religious identity, not a racial identity. Also, even if we consider Judaism as being a racial identity, don't Jewish people accomplish as much than non-Jewish people?

I'm not trying to prove, or disprove Hitler's theory. I know that he was wrong. I'm just trying to understand how he came to his conclusion about the "Master Race."

For me it has been Joyce Meyer. She said that if you speak verses about angels over your life it will defeat satan's ultimate goal for your life. She also said speaking Psalms 27 over your life will transform it. She said that if you seek God's face instead of his presents His hand will always be open to you and that you must put on the armour of God and bind the strong man when going thru a tough situation. That and alot of other stuff. Kenneth Hagin said "Thou shalt have whatsover thou saith (actually that is from the Bible ) and Kenneth Hagin said that Christians not only reinherit Adam's blessing but are also a blessing to others.

Small girls are more likely to produce small offspring, is that not generally correct?

But with women, they want a large male partner as they are able to theoretically protect and provide for them better.

If a petite girls are producing sons that are generally going to be smaller, is this not contradicting what makes a good genetic partner?

Statistically smaller girls breed much more & younger. The same goes for large men.

The rainbow is often seen nowadays anywhere that there are homosexuals. They proudly display it as their sign. But, I'm sure that you remember that the rainbow is the Sign of the Covenant in Genesis between God and His people that He would never destroy the world with flood again. Why did He destroy the world in the first place? Because of the depravity of the people on earth. As a matter of fact, Noah and his family were the only ones that God saw fit to save. So the very sign that God used to make a promise that He would not destroy it by flood again because of people's depravity is being used by the depraved people as their sign! And I do not care what you say about me saying that the homosexuals are depraved, because they are! So get over it! This is really grossly ironic and it is almost like slapping God in the face! "Here's your sign and I am going to use it as my sign so that everyone will know that I am gay!" Fellow Christians, do you see what I am saying?

In various passages in the Bible the devil is shown as being either an "associate" or instrument of God. For example, in the Temptation of Christ (Matthew 4) it is stated that "Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil." (Matthew 4:1)

Furthermore, the devil's banishment from Heaven is told in the context of his *belief* in humanity, as opposed to God's doubt. The story of Genesis makes no explicit reference to Satan or the devil and although people attribute the serpent's actions to the devil, this is difficult to resolve for two reasons:

1. Either it was not Satan (likely since no explicit mention of it *being* Satan appears in Genesis)
2. Or it was Satan but it wished simply to give mankind the gift of knowledge

I am non-Abrahamic but am trying to understand the allegories and stories of the Bible and am having a difficult time with this facet of the Book.

So all you need a solid faith? Why is then that we find it hard to create within ourselves the necessary trust and the faith that the muntains in our path shall be moved? Is it because we dont want to move the mountains... Are we afraid (fear) of sucess as well as failure?

.... that no scientific discovery has ever precluded the existence of a God?

Scientific discoveries explain 'how'.
Religion may explain 'why'.
There is no conflict.

Can anything be done to help those of a less enquiring mind who ignore facts and adhere rigidly to metaphore and dogma?
